Under the terms of the agreement, a bricks-and-mortar BetMGM Sportsbook connected to the team’s Nationals Park stadium will be opened, while an online sports betting app would be launched for use in and around the stadium. A number of co-branding opportunities and a fan-focused marketing campaign will also go ahead between the online sports betting operator and the professional baseball franchise.
The interactive BetMGM Sportsbook sports wagering experience will complement the existing experience at the MGM National Harbor Dugout Club in addition to contributing to luxury viewing at the Park. The BetMGM Sportsbook will be physically located in the space that currently serves as Center Field Social, across Center Field Plaza from the Nationals team store. While physical access to the sportsbook by fans attending a Nationals game will not be possible, fans will be able to place legal sports bets through the aforementioned in-stadium only BetMGM mobile sports betting app.
The move comes after other companies have launched stadium deals in DC, with FanDuel signing up with DC United at soccer’s Audi Field, while William Hill is available at the home of the capitals and Mystics, Capital One Arena.
The Nationals are rapt with the BetMGM Partnership
Alan Gottlieb, Chief Operating Officer of Lerner Sports Group, the Nationals ownership group, spoke glowingly of the BetMGM deal;
“The Nationals are thrilled to expand our strong partnership with MGM Resorts into the sports betting realm. As our Official Sports Betting Partner, BetMGM will further enhance the greatest in-venue fan experience in Washington, D.C. through its state-of-the-art entertainment products and services. The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM Sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the D.C. community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports together” Gottlieb said.
Last year, in 2020’s global pandemic-enforced shortened season, the Nationals, World Series champions the previous year in 2019, finished tied for fourth place with the New York Mets at 26-34 in the National League Eastern Division.
For the record, BetMGM has the Nationals at +500 odds to take out the National League East in 2021, while if you believe the Nationals can go even deeper in the 2021 playoffs, BetMGM will offer you +2000 odds on the Nationals to take out the National League Championship.
Ultimate Nationals believers can currently get odds of +3500 for DC’s team to take out the 2021 World Series.
BetMGM looking forward to engaging MLB fans in DC

Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer at BetMGM, said; “This new partnership with the Nationals is our most in-depth partnership with a team and showcases the multitude of ways we’re able to engage fans in and out of stadiums. We’re extremely excited to work together to create unique experiences for Nationals fans and the broader D.C. metro area during and after games.”
