FanDuel and the Broncos Sign NFL’s First Sports Betting Deal

The NFL’s Denver Broncos have agreed to a an historic multiyear deal with FanDuel making the online sportsbook their official sports betting and daily fantasy football partner. It was also an historic agreement for Colorado and puts the Mile High State firmly on the legal sports betting map.

After the league cleared the way for such agreements, the Broncos are the first NFL team to formally announce a partnership with an online sportsbook. The NFL now permits sportsbooks at stadiums with revenue generated being shared between the league and its players. It’s a huge breeze of change for the NFL after they spent more than two decades in legal battle with the State of New Jersey blocking the way for state-based sports wagering. The NFL’s mood has gone full circle and the Broncos will become the first franchise to benefit.

The extent of the FanDuel – Denver Broncos Deal

The agreement will permit FanDuel to utilize the Bronco team logos in its Colorado advertising, and FanDuel will advertise inside the Empower Field at Mile High, on the Broncos’ radio and TV broadcasts, and exclusively on the team’s website.

In a prepared statement, Broncos chief commercial official Mac Freeman went on the record to say:

FanDuel has built a strong reputation as a premier gaming destination for sports fans. The ways they smartly reach people through engaging and entertaining content is in line with the Broncos’ innovative thinking when connecting with our fans. With FanDuel’s successful launch into Colorado earlier in May, we believe Broncos fans will enjoy FanDuel’s trusted mobile sports betting and daily fantasy platforms. This is a dynamic time in this particular space and (after) the conversations with probably a dozen different partners, I think FanDuel seems to be defining itself as very innovative and forward-thinking as it relates to data and business intelligence” said an enthusiastic Freeman.

FanDuel excited to be working in Colorado

Given that Colorado is our newest market, the Broncos made a lot of sense,” FanDuel chief marketing officer Mike Raffensperger said recently.

Colorado is just an amazing sports market for major league teams and the Broncos have a special affinity and fandom across the state, even above and beyond other NFL franchises.”

Raffensperger explained that the Broncos were enticing as the first NFL sports betting partner as “they were excited about some of the things we had done in other markets and we had some like-mindedness and all that brewed together to get a deal done.”

FanDuel’s deal with the Denver Broncos gives the company the opportunity to offer promotional betting markets exclusively to residents and visitors to the state of Colorado.

For an example of some of excellent Broncos promotional odds exclusive in Colorado, FanDuel customers in the state can get the Broncos plus 30 points for the September 14 season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

It’s a great deal for sports bettors in Colorado, as in other FanDuel states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the Broncos are a 1.5-point favorite. Sure, there is a $50 cap on this special points-spread bet, but it is still a fantastic deal.

What’s more, Colorado FanDuel members can also get great odds on the Denver Broncos total win number for the upcoming season. Bets are capped at $10 on the over/under 7.5-win total with odds set at +1600.

Colorado off to a good sports betting start

In its first full month, Colorado sportsbooks saw the state’s sports bettors placing $25.5 million in wagers, according to official Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission numbers. NFL betting and Broncos fans in particular should assisting in increasing those numbers once the season begins in earnest in the fall.
