One of the favorites of New Jersey betting fans among their online sportsbooks, BetMGM has taken another huge leap forward into the sportsbook/major professional sports cross-over deals world by signing up with Professional Golf’s PGA Tour to become the Tour’s official betting partner. The announcement of the partnership comes on the back of last month’s deal between BetMGM and the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

It also backs up the PGA Tour’s deal announced with DraftKings last month, whereby DraftKings also built upon is existing marketing and content partnership with the Golf’s regulatory body and also folded betting rights into their agreement. That multiyear deal paved the way forward for this bigger and better BetMGM deal, as DraftKings became an official betting operator adding to its prior commitment as sole Daily Fantasy Sports supplier to the PGA Tour.

What the BetMGM – PGA Tour Partnership looks like

As part of the new deal, BetMGM will have rights across the United States to use PGA Tour trademarks and additional rights to advertise within PGA Tour media and partner platforms.

The online sportsbook will also gain video and content rights permitting BetMGM sportsbook platforms to create both pre-game and post-game betting programming, in addition to the distribution of highlights to the sportsbook users who have placed bets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed on the public record.

Other than the partnership with Golf’s U.S. governing and regulatory body, BetMGM also has partnerships with several individual PGA Tour players, including the entertaining fan favorite Boo Weekley, and others in Max Homa, Jimmy Walker, Kevin Na, Pat Perez, Ryan Moore, and Joel Dahmen.

“BetMGM is part of a premium brand that is deeply connected to golf through sponsorship of various PGA Tour players and tournaments,” commented Norb Gambuzza, PGA Tour’s Senior Vice President of media and gaming.

“Through the power of the BetMGM brand and resources, this new relationship will help accelerate our sports betting strategy, and enable the Tour to reach new fans and further engage current fans who enjoy betting on golf.” he continued.

The PGA Tour is one of the most popular sports betting offerings on the BetMGM platform. Currently available for download on iOS and Android, the BetMGM mobile sports betting app offers the latest PGA Tour betting odds, enhanced offers, and multiple betting formats, from money line and point spread bets to parlays and futures of all the big tournaments including Golf majors like the US Masters, Us Open and the British Open.

In addition to the Garden State, the BetMGM online sportsbook currently operates in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada and West Virginia.

BetMGM agree the match with the PGA Tour is an exciting one

“We look forward to working with the PGA TOUR to integrate great experiences for BetMGM customers,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer.

“BetMGM’s advanced betting technology, combined with the PGA TOUR’s world-class competitions and iconic players, will not only advance the TOUR’s position at the forefront of professional sports, but the entire betting industry as well.” He continued.

The BetMGM commitment to improving its services to clients is being further promoted through industry leading anti-corruption programs and supplying help to any of its patrons that might develop problem gambling issues.

PGA Tour betting fans can rest assured that their bets placed through BetMGM will be fair. In 2018, the PGA instituted an integrity program in collaboration with Genius Sports to protect its competitions from betting-related corruption. Later the same year, the PGA Tour announced a global partnership with IMG ARENA to license its official, live scoring data to betting operators all over the world and became a Platinum Member of the National Council on Problem Gambling, committed to industry-leading responsible gaming practices.
