San Francisco Giants vs Colorado Rockies MLB betting predictions

Giants-vs-Rockies Week 6
Giants vs Rockies MLB betting predictions

The first place Giants are in Denver to face the last place Rockies. The Giants send out RHP Logan Webb who is 1-2 and has struggled on the road so far in ‘21 to face off against the Rockies RHP Jon Gray (3-2). For the Rockies this will be one of their better shots at beating the Giants this season, they are at home and I like Gray who is 3-0 at home this year with a 1.85 ERA. Gray is also 2-0 this season during the daytime. Take the Rockies Wednesday afternoon to win.

Giants vs Rockies betting odds

Mark this day on the calendar (as of Tuesday) the Giants are alone atop the NL West. It’s not that the Giants don’t have a good ball club, but they play in the Dodgers division and, as I see it, L.A. is in its own league this season. So go Giants!

As for this game, the Giants and Rockies have met 6 times (all in San Francisco) so far in 2021 with the Giants winning 5. The one Rockies win came last week when they squeaked out a 10th inning win on back-to-back home runs. So, advantage Giants. Monday’s game was rained out and MLB will make up the game with the teams playing a doubleheader today (Tuesday) in Denver.

Looking for MLB betting odds? Take note as for Colorado, Wednesday afternoon’s game will be one of the Rockies best shots at beating the Giants in 2021. Righty Jon Gray who is 3-2 this season with a 3.15 ERA and a respectable 1.19 WHIP takes the mound against the Giants Logan Webb who in 5 starts has been shaky at best. Webb is 1-2 on the season with a 4.13 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP (with 6 appearances in ‘21 he does have 1 hold on the season).

Manager Bud Black and his Rockies have had a rough season so far. The Rockies look up from last place in the NL West and it is easy to see why, the Rockies have the 6th worst MLB team ERA at 4.87 and it gets worse for Black when he goes to his pen as the Rockies bullpen has a 5.31 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP, not good.

At bat the Rockies are, as a team, slightly better than average and rank in the middle of the pack in most categories, notably Colorado is hitting .246 and is tied for 8th in Runs with 133 on the season. LF Raimel Tapia leads the Rockies hitting .320 with 31 hits and 2B Ryan McMahon has 20 RBI.

The Giants offense has been paced this season by veterans 3B Evan Longoria whose 12 RBI lead the team and catcher Buster Posey who has collected 23 hits so far.

The Giants pitching has been the polar opposite of the Rockies in ‘21 as S.F. has a team 3.00 ERA which is 3rd in the majors.

Still, if you’re looking for Giants vs Rockies MLB betting odds, these games are all about matchups and who is pitching, and, like I mentioned earlier, with the
Giants Webb getting the start the Rockies look like the best bet in this one. Webb is 0-2 on the road this season with a 5.87 ERA. And I don’t expect better numbers for Webb in this one in altitude at monstrous Coors Field.

At home, with Gray on the hill, I like the Rockies.

Mac hails from Kenosha, WI, and at age 11 was hooked into the universe of sports betting by correcting the local newspapers' weekly football pool. In the wild, Mac can be found playing catch with his kid, golfing, or watching sports like baseball, the PGA Tour, the NBA, MMA, or any other sport (most likely with a beer in hand). While Mac is officially a Green Bay Packers stockholder, he takes no responsibility for the Packer's recent playoff failures. A copywriter for 9 years, Mac is thrilled to provide his predictions and insights for usalegalbetting.com. Once asked if he could choose to have a beer with any athlete in history, living or dead he answered, "I'd definitely choose someone living."
