Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Predictions

76ers vs Clippers NBA
Philadelphia vs. Los Angeles, NBA Betting Predictions, April 16

The Philadelphia 76ers try to add more distance atop the Eastern Conference on Friday when they host the streaking Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers have won seven straight games and 13 of their last 15 as they close out a road trip in Philadelphia. As good as Philadelphia is this year, I think the Clippers continue their strong play with another victory.

Team vs Team Betting Odds

Friday’s tilt in Philadelphia is another fascinating NBA matchup between two teams with title aspirations. The Los Angeles Clippers have won seven straight games and 13 of their last 15 contests and are looking like a team that could contend in the loaded Western Conference. Los Angeles finishes its road trip against the Philadelphia 76ers, who are leading the Eastern Conference after defeating Brooklyn on Wednesday at home. Joel Embiid is playing at an MVP level for the 76ers, who have shown they are among the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

Both of these teams have star players who are listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup, and it’s unclear who will or won’t play. I would bet on Tobias Harris being in the lineup after he’s played the last two games for Philadelphia after resting against the Thunder last week. It’s more unclear for the Clippers, who won on Wednesday in Detroit without Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka and Patrick Beverly. Neither Beverly or Ibaka made the trip, and George took off Wednesday’s game to rest, but Leonard’s status is a giant question mark. He hasn’t played in the last three games, but the Clippers are holding out hope he can return Friday.

Leonard is going to be vital for the Clippers’ hopes of slowing down Embiid at all for the 76ers. The center has been a dominant force since returning from injury at the beginning of April with three 30-point outings in his last five games. He’s making defenses work hard to defend the paint and is starting to regain his form on the glass as well with two 10-plus-rebound efforts in his last three games. Los Angeles’ plan to slow down and contain Embiid is going to go a long way to how the Clippers are going to keep their winning streak alive with a difficult test in Philadelphia.

Despite all the injury news, the legal sports betting sites in New Jersey are still making the 76ers slim two-point favorites for this game. It makes complete sense given that the game is being played in Philadelphia and the hosts are the healthier of the two teams. However, the Clippers haven’t won seven straight games and 13 of their last 15 by being dependent on Leonard or any other superstar. Los Angeles has shown off its depth, which is why I’m betting on the Clippers to win this game at the basketball betting sites in New Jersey. I won’t mess around with a spread, either, though picking the Clippers laying points would provide better odds. I could just bet Los Angeles on the moneyline for +122 odds at the NBA betting sites in New Jersey. Instead, I’ll give myself a bit better odds by betting on the Clippers to win in regulation for +138 odds.

My Prediction

Los Angeles Moneyline

The Clippers are starting to round into form with wins in 13 of their last 15 games, including seven straight victories. The 76ers might be the class of the Eastern Conference at the moment, but they aren’t a dominant force per se. Even without Kawhi Leonard, I think the Clippers can get the job done on the road.
