The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were always going to have an advantage at quarterback, but now that drop is class is steep with Jeff Driskel set to get the start for the Denver Broncos. Denver’s offense is reeling with injuries to the starting quarterback and top wide receiver, and the defense is already without its best player. This sets up for Tampa Bay to have a field day against a depleted Denver squad and return home with a win. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos Betting Odds It only took one game for Leonard Fournette to settle into his new surroundings in Tampa Bay. Fournette ran 12 times for 103 yards and two scores to help the Buccaneers secure a win over Carolina last week, and it took some pressure off Tom Brady. The quarterback is still not at his best through two games as he threw for 217 yards and just one touchdown last week while also again throwing an interception. He doesn’t seem capable of winning games with his arm at the moment, which isn’t a concern yet for Tampa Bay, but it will be up to the players around Brady to help him find a rhythm within the offense and spark some success again. Denver is going to scramble to find an offensive identity with starting quarterback Drew Lock sidelined for at least a month and wide receiver Courtland Sutton out for the season with a torn ACL. The Broncos are turning to Jeff Driskel at quarterback, and while it worked for a little bit against Pittsburgh last week, it hasn’t been successful for Driskel in the past. He’s 1-7 as a starter in the NFL, including 0-3 last year in Denver. He completed 59 percent of his passes last season for the Broncos and tossed as many touchdowns as interceptions (four), while leading Denver to 18.6 points per game. If you add in the fact that he’s done his top receiver as well, it will put a lot of pressure on rookie Jerry Jeudy and tight end Noah Fant to help make big plays for Driskel in the passing game and not force Denver into being one-dimensional behind Melvin Gordon at running back. Gordon has been successful this season with an average of 4.4 yards per carry, but he’s hasn’t had to be a workhorse out of the backfield in either game so far. As poor as Denver’s offense might be Sunday, its defense has a chance to make a real impact on this game. The Broncos have the type of athletic linebackers that can put pressure on Brady and keep Fournette in check in the running game. It might not be enough to slow down the Buccaneers enough to win, but it could make the total points prop bet interesting at the New Jersey online sports betting sites. That total currently sits at 43.5 points, but I think it could be much lower than that, which of course means longer odds on the wager. I’m going to take a big risk with my NFL betting predictions and gamble on this game having fewer than 37.5 total points at +175 odds to add some value to the wager. Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win There is reason to perhaps hope that Driskel can build on the positives from last week, but without his Sutton at receiver, it’s hard to envision he can do that. The Broncos best chance is to find ways to stifle Tampa Bay’s rushing attack and force Tom Brady to beat them with his arm, but that is of course easier said than done. Tampa Bay being a six-point favorite is a little too perfect of a line for my liking, so I’m going to just bet Tampa Bay on the moneyline at -270 odds instead at the NFL betting sites in New Jersey.
