Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Betting Predictions

Kansas City vs. Tampa Bay, NFL Betting Predictions, November 29

When Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes take the field Sunday for this game, it will become the largest age discrepancy between two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks in a regular-season game. And it’s clear that Mahomes is on the ascendancy in this league while Brady is slowly but surely on the decline. Mahomes continues to make the big plays in big moments to lead the Chiefs to victory, and that is likely to continue this week.

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Betting Odds

Kansas City has lit up the last four opponents it has played and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Mahomes is obviously the catalyst for most of that offense as he’s thrown 11 touchdowns and just one interception in the last three weeks while throwing for at least 348 yards in all three games. Between Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, Mahomes has two elite weapons, but he will only benefit if Sammy Watkins is able to return this week from his hamstring injury. The question is how the Chiefs will try to utilize Clyde Edwards-Helaire against Tampa Bay’s top-ranked rushing defense as Kansas City has prove it can win without gaining much on the ground. The Chiefs, though, need their defense to step up and play much better than it has the last two weeks. Both the Panthers and Raiders scored 31 points on Kansas City and forced some late heroics from Mahomes.

Tampa Bay has all the weapons to be able to take advantage of the leaky Kansas City defense with Brady at the helm. He’s distributed the ball well between Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski, a group of weapons that is hard to defend. Unfortunately for Brady, the Chiefs have 10 interceptions this season, something he has struggled with in recent weeks. He threw three to New Orleans earlier this month and threw two more in last week’s loss to the Rams. If Brady protects the ball then Tampa Bay will stretch the field with its plethora of targets in the passing game. The Buccaneers, though, will also need to get the running game going to help out Brady as we’ve seen the Buccaneers struggle offensively in the games it isn’t able to run the football. Tampa Bay had just 42 yards last week and eight yards against the Saints, and scored 27 combined points. It had 210 rushing yards and 334 passing yards in the week between those two games in blowing out Carolina.

It’s honestly shocking how low the New Jersey online sports betting sites set the over/under in this game. The last two Chiefs games have both featured at least 60 combined points and the Buccaneers have an offense that can get into a shootout with Kansas City. Tampa Bay’s offense has shown the ability to be explosive against non-elite defenses like Kansas City’s and the Chiefs can put up points on anyone. I’ll push my luck on this wager and bet on the over 64.5 total points for +230 odds in order to gain maximum value.

Chiefs to win

It was interesting to see the NFL betting sites in New Jersey install the Chiefs as 3.5-point favorites in this matchup. Kansas City does have the top-ranked scoring offense and second-best offense in terms of yards, and Mahomes has proven just how difficult it is to slow down this offense. The Chiefs have scored at least 33 points in four straight games and will stretch out the Buccaneers, who are in the middle of the pack in terms of passing defense. Brady and the Buccaneers should be able to shred the Kansas City defense like the Chiefs’ last two opponents, but it likely won’t be enough. This is set to be a shootout and Mahomes has always seemed to make the final play to win, so I’ll bet the Chiefs to win by six points or fewer at +330 odds.
