The Dallas Cowboys are currently in a tailspin and yet they have a chance to take the lead in the NFC East this week when they travel to the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia earned a big comeback win over the Giants last week that will certainly boost their spirits as the Eagles have now started to play more competitive football. Dallas has looked uninspired since Dak Prescott’s injury, so this seems like an easy stroll for Philadelphia. Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Odds Things are becoming increasingly worse in Dallas in the wake of Prescott’s injury as the Cowboys has looked hapless on both sides of the ball. In the last four NFL games Prescott started, the Cowboys scored at least 30 points in all of them. Dallas has now scored just 13 points in the last two weeks, including just three against Washington on the road last week. Now Andy Dalton is questionable this week with a concussion, leaving the offense in the hands of Ben DiNucci for the time being. The defense allowed less than 30 points last week for the first time since the opener, but that isn’t much of an accomplishment given Washington’s offense still put up nearly 400 yards of offense. Now Carson Wentz has a chance to pad his stats against this Cowboys defense and Dallas doesn’t even have the offense right now to fire back. Philadelphia is in a world of hurt offensively as well with Carson Wentz’s struggles this season at quarterback. Wentz has already thrown 10 interceptions to counteract his 10 touchdowns, and we continue to see glimmers of hope through the disappointment. The Eagles’ first drive last week against the Giants was fantastic as were the final two drives to come back from a two-score deficit to win the game. Yet was there enough from that performance to inspire confidence in this group moving forward? If anything, the fact Dallas is more of a mess than Philadelphia right now is the saving grace for both sides of the ball for the Eagles. Philadelphia has found themselves in plenty of close games over the last five weeks, and the Eagles were never really in control of any of them. This might be a chance for Philadelphia to seize control early and stick with it, and that will do a lot for Philadelphia’s confidence moving forward. Eagles to win The Eagles are 7.5-point favorites at betting sites in New Jersey and that might be underselling how bad the Cowboys are right now. Washington embarrassed Dallas last week and the Eagles are better on paper than Washington at the moment. Dallas’ offense will be in major trouble with DiNucci – or a yet to be signed quarterback – running the show, so I think Philadelphia will easily cover the point spread at the moment. The question is whether or not the Eagles can win by 14 or more points, which I think they can do despite their own issues. Therefore, I’m picking Philadelphia to win by at least 14 points at +150 odds.
