The main event for UFC 259 will be the light heavyweight title match featuring Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya. Blachowicz is the reigning champion, but oddsmakers have the Polish warrior as the betting underdog. Respect is being given to Adesanya, who has been impressive so far in his fresh UFC career, but I still think Blachowicz will win.
The UFC is back in Las Vegas with its flagship event series. The main card for UFC 259 on March 6, 2021, is packed with terrific matchups, including the light heavyweight title fight of Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya. Blachowicz is the belt-holder right now, but top MMA predictions and the best betting sites in NJ favor Adesanya, currently the No. 4 ranked contender in the light heavyweight division. Adesanya has only been in the UFC for three years, but he’s been phenomenal, boasting an 8-0 record, and a 20-0 professional fighting record. He’s a superb striker but may struggle against Blachowicz, whom you could argue is the more well-rounded fighter. Adesanya is the physically bigger fighter, though, and if anyone needs a reminder, the last time we saw him, he laid out Paulo Costa in the 2nd round and landed a total of 55 strikes. It’s been five months since that fight, and it’s a really tough decision to bet against him, but I have to put some respect on Blachowicz’s name as the current champion. At 38, Blachowicz has much more experience than Adesanya in the UFC and is also more versatile. If he decides to go toe-to-toe with Adensayan, though, it could be a problem since Adesanya is not the type of fighter you want to try that with. Still, I’m going to give Blachowicz the nod here to humble Adesanya and hand him his first career loss. The NJ online sportsbook review has a breakdown of the best places to bet on this fight, but the best UFC betting sites advocate for bettors to take Blachowicz. The best betting value is over at Borgata, where the moneyline odds are listed at +210 for the underdog.
It’s not easy to bet against Adesanya since he’s undefeated, but I think there’s better value to bank on the current champion in Blachowicz. He’s a great striker but can also win on the mat. My prediction: Blachowicz wins in the 3rd round via KO/TKO
