UFC Vegas 25 has tons of great fights on the schedule for the main card, including a light heavyweight bout of Dominick Reyes vs Jiri Prochazka as the main event. Prochazka has been in better form recently and has opened as the betting favorite. Reyes has recently fought some pretty tough opponents, so I like his chances to bounce back with an upset.
The UFC was crazy last weekend, and I think we’re all still processing it all, but UFC Vegas 25 is coming up this Saturday. On the main card, we have a light heavyweight bout of Dominick Reyes vs Jiri Prochazka. Prochazka has opened as the betting favorite, as the top UFC betting sites in NJ have him listed at odds of roughly -133 on the money line. He’s in a good spot going up against Reyes, who is riding a two-fight losing streak after losing to Jon Jones, and then Jan Blachowicz. He went the distance against Jones, but Blachowicz laid him out after that. Those are his only two professional losses, but those opponents are the cream of the crop in the light heavyweight division, though, so I wouldn’t really say that Reyes has disappointed us as of late, but it’s still worth noting. Prochazka is fairly new to the UFC, but he’s had more professional MMA fights than Reyes and is fresh off a win against Volkan Oezdemir, where he actually closed as the betting underdog. Reyes is slightly taller than Prochazka at 6’4”, but his reach is only 77 inches, compared to Prochazka’s 80-inch reach. The best betting sites in NJ and NJ’s top MMA betting sites are on Prochazka’s side, but we shouldn’t forget how good Reyes looked before losing to Jones. His last victory was back in October 2019, where he pummeled Chris Weidman. This will be Prochazka’s biggest test thus far, and although he’s a more proficient striker, Reyes is a solid underdog betting pick due to what we know he’s capable of. These guys will both be looking for the kill, so I don’t expect this fight to go past the first two rounds. I have faith in Reyes that he’ll bounce back and prove to us that he shouldn’t be forgotten. Check out the NJ online sportsbook review for where to get the best odds for this fight, but if you want to go with Reyes like I am, his best odds are on Borgata, where he’s listed at +110 on the money line market.
This fight will be highly entertaining. Both fighters excellent strikers, and really, it could swing in any direction/ Prochazka is a promising UFC fighter, while we’ve seen what Reyes can do. He’ll snap his losing streak this Saturday with a knockout victory. My prediction: Reyes wins by KO/TKO in the 1st round.
