Las Vegas prepares to host another UFC Fight Night this weekend, with Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Cyril Gane’s heavyweight bout as the main event. Gane has opened as the betting favorite in what figures to be a striking contest, but the better value is found betting with the underdog, Rozenstruik, who has just a bit more UFC experience.
Las Vegas has been busy hosting UFC events this month and will continue this weekend with UFC Fight Night 186. The evening’s main event is a heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Cyril Gane, two UFC freshmen looking to establish themselves as big names in their weight class. The top UFC betting sites and MMA predictions are pulling for Gane since he’s opened as the betting favorite, and it’s hard to go against him. Gane only has four UFC matches under his belt, but he’s absolutely dominated all of them. He’s been excellent from the very beginning, ever since he submitted Raphael Pessoa in the first round back on August 10, 2019. A year and a half later, Gane is 7-0 in his professional MMA career and fresh off a victory against Junior dos Santos which he won by KO/TKO in the second round. Gane is a Muay Thai world champion and has a freakish physical frame that he’ll be able to use to his advantage against Rozenstruik. Rozenstruik is an excellent fighter, too, though. He’s only lost once in the UFC, but he was able to bounce back recently when he also fought Junior dos Santos, securing victory in the second round via KO/TKO. He holds the record for the second-fastest KO in UFC heavyweight history when he pummeled Allen Crowder in about 9 seconds. Still, NJ online sportsbook reviews and the top betting sites in NJ favor Gane, but this is one fight I feel confident betting on the underdog, and not just for the value. Rozenstruik is a talented fighter with great kickboxing and Muay Thai skills, so he’ll hang with Gane, who has never been in a five-round match. FanDuel has the best odds for Rozenstruik at +220, but if you want to roll with Gane, 888sport has the best odds for him at -278.
Gane has been scary good so far in his young MMA career, which is why he’s favored over Rozenstruik, but there isn’t enough value being offered to bet on Gane over Rozenstruik. He’s got the edge physically, but this will be a real test for Gane, and I think Rozenstruik has the stamina to take him out in one of the later rounds. My prediction: Rozenstruik KO/TKO in the 4th round.
