DraftKings Online Casino goes live in Pennsylvania

DraftKings Online Casino goes live in Pennsylvania

Last week, DraftKings officially joined the ranks of legal Pennsylvania online casinos with the launch of their casino offering accessible directly from the platform of its already successful PA sports book.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approved the DraftKings online casino license just two days before the launch. Just like all other online casino licensees in the Keystone State, DraftKings is operating its online casino through a bricks-and-mortar casino partner – in DraftKings case, Penn National’s Hollywood Casino. DraftKings is now the ninth legal online casino offering casino games across the state.

DraftKings integrates online casino & sportsbook on easy one-click navigation site

Already well-known state wide for their DraftKings sportsbook in Pennsylvania, DraftKings conducted a ‘soft-launch’ initial testing period for two days to ensure all was ready and set in place for live online players, with the soft-launch overseen by the PGCB auditing the two days of testing before DraftKings became live on Friday, May 1 2020.

The launch model followed that of DraftKings successful New Jersey operation. DraftKings already has an online casino foothold in the neighboring New Jersey market place under the Resorts Atlantic City license. The DraftKings NJ online casino site launched back in December 2018, just a few months after its online sportsbook went live in the Garden State, much the same as the company’s Pennsylvania experience.

DraftKings enter the PA market with business booming

The DraftKings move into Pennsylvania arrives at a time when online casino gaming is seeing an enormous surge in popularity and uptake due to so many traditional land-based casino aficionados being stuck at home.

Interest in online casinos in the Keystone State is believed to have increased by as much as 400% over the last two months, as travel restrictions and lack of ability to congregate in large groups has kicked in.

However, DraftKings brings a unique new and eclectic game selection twist to the PA online casino scene.

DraftKings – a PA online casino reimagined

Whereas many of the PA online casinos are quite deliberately slots-heavy in their game choices, DraftKings have consciously pitched itself at a wider market of online casino players. Though DraftKings do offer all of the regular range of slots you might expect to see in a quality PA online casino, you can also enjoy a quality selection of table games, including roulette, blackjack and baccarat.

In neighboring New Jersey in 2018, DraftKings launched a revolutionary mobile-first blackjack game, meaning players are treated to a mobile gaming experience that is developed and branded by DraftKings, having a more modern and younger feel than some other online casinos. Market experts are expecting DraftKings will continue to be popular with a younger generation of online players that have grown up with the company’s Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) competitions, progressed into sports betting and now look forward to online casino game play.

DraftKings thankful for the Pennsylvania opportunity

”DraftKings appreciates the collaborative working relationship we have established with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and thanks them for their thoughtful leadership in creating a consumer-focused, competitive iGaming market,” Tim Dent, chief compliance officer for DraftKings, released in a written statement.

“We appreciate the co-operation of the PGCB in successfully completing the soft launch phase of the process and receiving our iGaming license so that we could become fully operational in Pennsylvania on May 1.” Mr Dent concluded.

We’re thankful too of the arrival of the DraftKings online casino product into the Pennsylvania market place. As the industry continues to diversify and continually evolve both in terms of online casino variations and quality, we welcome DraftKings Online Casino and look forward to watching other new and exciting online casinos become available in the Keystone State.
