On the eve of Super Bowl Sunday, the NBA will have a chance to enjoy the spotlight. Starting in the afternoon, there is a full slate of 12 games on the NBA schedule, including a nationally televised game between the Warriors and the Suns. With plenty of options available, we decided to create a three-game parlay at FanDuel to celebrate the day before the Super Bowl.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks Best Bet:

Mavericks +2 | -110 at FanDuel

Conventional wisdom says the Thunder can handle such a small spread since Oklahoma City has the second best record against the spread in the NBA. But those numbers don’t represent the OKC team we’ve seen recently that’s 1-5 against the spread in its last five games. That stretch has included a loss against the Pistons and Tuesday’s road loss to the Jazz. That makes us skeptical against a Dallas team that’s been red-hot lately.

The Mavericks have spent the last week beating the 76ers, Nets, and Knicks on the road. Those wins have surely given Dallas a huge confidence boost upon coming home. While the Mavericks have some lingering injury issues, especially with Dereck Lively sidelined. But with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic playing together, the Mavs have a backcourt tandem that could give them a leg up against a struggling OKC team, making us want to lean toward the underdog in this game.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Toronto Raptors Best Bet:

Cavaliers -8 | -110 at FanDuel

At first glance, this line might seem a little too big for the Cavs to cover on the road. But we’re talking about a Cleveland team that’s won eight in a row and is 5-3 against the spread during that stretch. The backcourt tandem of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell is performing at a high level and getting plenty of help from Cleveland’s supporting cast. After covering an eight-point spread in Brooklyn on Thursday, we trust the Cavs to do the same in Toronto.

On the other side, the Raptors had two separate losing streaks of four games or more in January and haven’t done much better in February. The trades Toronto made in the lead-up to the deadline haven’t worked out thus far with the Raptors struggling to find their footing with a new lineup. They don’t defend well enough to slow down the Cavs and won’t be able to keep up with Cleveland’s scoring, making them vulnerable to a lop-sided loss at home.

Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors Best Bet:

Warriors -1 | -110 at FanDuel

This is a fascinating matchup with both teams winning three in a row and five of their last six games. But we’re going to give the Warriors the edge as the home team in a virtual toss-up. Granted, Golden State’s home record is a little disappointing, but coming home after a 4-1 road trip should inspire them to bring their best effort at home. Plus, Steph Curry has had some huge games lately, including 42 points in his last game, so he has a chance to lift Golden State to another big win.

Meanwhile, the Suns have played seven of their last nine games, losing three of the six games during that stretch that had a spread of five points or less. Phoenix hasn’t always played its best in challenging games, and facing the red-hot Warriors surely qualifies as a challenging game. With Bradley Beal and some key reserves all nursing injuries, the Suns aren’t at full strength, which could cost them on the road.
