NBA Picks and Parlay of the Weekend

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is set for Friday night with the Celtics leading the Mavericks 3-0. Since this could be the final game of the season, the US Legal Sports Betting team wanted to do something special and put together one last same-game parlay. Don’t forget that until the season actually ends, you’ll still be able to find NBA-focused sportsbook promos. For this parlay, we’ve decided to go with BetRivers, so make sure you read our BetRivers sportsbook review. Of course, you’re still free to explore all of the other sports betting sites out there.

Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks Best Bet:

Celtics ML | -106 at BetRivers

If the Mavericks were going to do anything in this series, they would have done it in Game 3. Despite the absence of Kristaps Porzingis and a 35-point effort from Kyrie Irving, Dallas lost Game 3 thanks to an awful third quarter. That will allow the Celtics to close out the series in Game 4, and we think they’ll take advantage of that opportunity. While the Mavs are a slight favorite, we’re happily starting our parlay with Boston’s moneyline, which should make fans using Massachusetts sportsbooks happy as well.

The Mavericks have had a fair chance in this series, but they’ve been out-classed by the Celtics at every turn. Either Boston’s stars have proven too much for Dallas or the Celtics have had too much quality depth. Either way, there is no reason to believe the Mavericks will suddenly have an answer. Barring a perfect game from Dallas, we firmly expect the Celtics to win Game 4.

Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks Best Bet:

Kyrie Irving Under 24.5 Points | -110 at BetRivers

Irving came up big for the Mavericks in Game 3, but it wasn’t enough. Due to his history with the Celtics, he remains a popular target at NBA betting sites. Given his boom-or-bust nature during the playoffs, we’re going to bank on him being a bust in Game 4. The Celtics will have a little more defensive focus on him in Game 4, knowing they can’t allow him to get going like that again. That should be enough to keep Irving under wraps and well below 24.5 points.

To his credit, Irving has scored 30-plus points seven times in 20 playoff games. But in the 13 games he’s failed to score 30 points, he’s been held to 20 points or less nine times, including the first two games of this series. There is no middle ground with him, and since he’s yet to put together back-to-back 30-point games during the postseason, we’re going to fade Irving in Game 4.

Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks Best Bet:

Jaylen Brown Over 4.5 Assists | +114 at BetRivers

Despite a modest 3..6 assists per game during the regular season, Brown has taken on the role of distributor during this series. He had seven assists in Game 2 and eight more in Game 3. Brown also scored 30 points in Game 3, a dominating performance that will give him a chance to win Finals MVP honors.

After that 30-point output, the Mavs will try to force the ball out of Brown’s hands. Also, he should be happy to play the role of playmaker, especially since the pressure is largely off with the Celtics leading 3-0. After his play in the last couple of games, we expect Brown to keep looking for his teammates, allowing him to rack up another impressive assist total while helping the Celtics secure a championship.
