NBA Best Bets 2023-2024

This is an absolutely huge week for the NBA, as teams can start to see the finish line of the regular season. Most days this week, there is a huge slate of games, starting on Monday night. If you haven’t already, now is the perfect time of year to check out some sportsbook promos and learn more about some of the top betting sites. On top of that, the USA Legal Betting team is here to help you with our three favorite NBA picks from Monday’s games.

Brooklyn Nets vs Toronto Raptors Best Bet:

PickRaptors +5 | -110 at FanDuel

Not even the most loyal Nets fans should be using New York sportsbooks to back Brooklyn in this game. The Nets have lost six in a row and gone 1-5 against the spread during that stretch. It makes it hard to get behind them as a 5.5-point favorite, especially on the road. Brooklyn is just 2-6 against the spread as a road favorite this season. This is a rare occasion and not a situation in which the Nets have excelled. With Cameron Johnson and Dennis Smith Jr. both out, Brooklyn is facing a tough road to change that trend.

In fairness, the Raptors aren’t in a good position either. They are riding a 10-game losing streak and have lost 12 of their last 13 games. Injuries have played a role in Toronto’s struggles during that stretch and continue to hinder the Raptors. On the bright side, the Raptors beat the spread in a competitive road loss against the Wizards on Saturday. That’s enough to back the Raptors as home underdogs in a game between two terrible teams.

Phoenix Suns vs San Antonio Spurs Best Bet:

Spurs +12 | -110 at BetMGM

The Suns have won three in a row and are coming off a 25-point win over the Spurs on Saturday. But with back-to-back games against San Antonio, the second game figures to be more competitive than the first. Keep in mind that Phoenix is just 9-12-1 against the spread as road favorites. With road games against the Nuggets, Thunder, and Pelicans over the next week, this is a game where the Suns are likely to have a letdown and not bring their best effort, allowing the Spurs to stay close.

It’s not as if San Antonio is always a pushover. Tre Jones has been better than people realize and Victor Wembanyama is always a difference-maker. Even in the midst of a lost season, the Spurs will be upset about Saturday's lopsided loss and want to have a better effort on Monday. Combined with the potential for the Suns to relax, San Antonio should make this game more competitive than the spread indicates.

Washington Wizards vs Chicago Bulls Best Bet:

Bulls -11.5 | -112 at BetRivers

With just 13 wins on the season, there aren’t many reasons to believe in the Wizards. Even after back-to-back wins at home, Washington isn’t a good bet, especially since the Wizards are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games. They are also 4-8 against the spread when coming off a win, so sustaining momentum isn’t their strength. Even as double-digit underdogs at BetRivers, they aren’t likely to keep this game close.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are desperate for a win after suffering back-to-back losses. That should fuel Chicago’s desire to blow out the Wizards. Of course, those participating in Illinois sports betting may be hesitant with the Bulls going 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games. But they’ve played a challenging schedule during that stretch, so playing Washington should be a welcomed change of pace. That makes this a good time to back the Bulls as double-digit favorites against a bad team.
