BetRivers Sportsbook first launched in June 2019, but a version of it was available even before that. Owned and operated by Rush Street Interactive, the company switched to BetRiivers, previously known as PlaySugarHouse. The rebranding took place over multiple years but started in Pennsylvania, the home of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh.

Upcoming Launches

There’s no news as to what stats BetRivers is slated to launch in, but states like North Carolina and Vermont will launch online sports betting soon. These could be opportunities for BetRivers to step in and increase their presence. Another spot that could be likely in the future is a BetRivers Kansas. Kansas recently launched online sports betting are is adding more platforms.

Terms and Conditions Information

The terms and conditions to be aware of pertain to the welcome bonus. With this offer, your bonus bet will be loaded within 24 hours of the bet settling. The bonus bet will expire after 30 days of issuance if you don’t use it. You must also use promo code SPORTS during your first deposit.

Baseball

• MLB: During this BetRivers Sportsbook review, the MLB season isn’t in the process. Thus, when gauging what kind of an MLB betting site BetRivers is, we can only go off the conference futures betting odds. Compared to other sites, once again, BetRivers shines as offering excellent odds on the more favored teams. Thanks to these odds, now is as good a time as any for betting on the World Series winner. 

Hockey

• NHL: There aren’t many betting sites that have NHL markets that have the library and menu of player props that BetRivers. There’s a dedicated menu for player props, including scoring, two goals, three goals, points, total shots, and more. They also sort by game. When looking at the futures markets, betting on the Staley Cup is available through betting on conference/division winners, and there are markets for who you think will win the championship. 

Golf

• BetRivers has markets for Majors such as the PGA Championship, Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open. You can also find markets for the PGA Tour and Team Events like the Ryder and Solheim Cup.

NASCAR Auto Racing

• NASCAR betting is available, but since it’s in the offseason at the time of this BetRivers Sportsbook review, there are future odds for the Daytona 500 and the 2024 Champion.

Boxing

• As far as a boxing betting site goes, BetRivers is fairly barebones. You can bet on the outcome of fights, but there’s not much more.

MMA

• Unlike boxing, BetRivers has a bit more for each fight, making it a far more intriguing MMA betting site. It’s mostly a UFC betting site based on the available markets, but Bellator will be available when events arise. There are about 30 betting markets for most fights.

Horse Betting

• Horse betting isn’t available at BetRivers.

Soccer

Many soccer betting sites provide markets for leagues worldwide, and BetRivers is no exception. There are markets for several countries, the Europa League, and more. Odds are also available for the World Cup Qualifying.

Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)

• Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) isn't available at BetRivers.

Tennis

• Compared to other tennis betting sites, BetRivers seems to have more markets than others. Currently, there are odds for ATP, WTA, Grand Slam, WTA Doubles, Challenger, ITF Men, ITF Women, and so much more. Live betting on tennis is exciting at BetRivers with the interface, live streaming capabilities, and micro-betting markets.

In states with numerous online sportsbooks, one of the best strategies is comparing books to one another to see which has the best odds for the wager you want to make. For this experiment, we compared BetRivers to their competitors for the College Football Conference Championship matchups.

BetRivers tended to be a bit better for the underdogs, with odds at -108 instead of -110.

This wasn’t a large enough sample size for us, so we looked at some future wagers.

For the NBA Champion and Heisman winner, BetRivers had the best odds on the favored teams and competitors, and we’d consider them the go-to place for wagering on the favorites if you want the best odds.

• House Specials: On the House Specials menu, you’ll see an array of odds boosts.
• Cash Out: Cash out allows you to exit a wager prematurely. This can be used strategically to either take home a larger percentage of your winnings without risking the final result or to exit a bad bet early to salvage a portion of that original bet.
• Live Betting: The live betting interface at BetRivers offers players a lot of statistical insight to help make wagers and also has links to external sites for more stats. A tracker also shows how the game is unfolding, even without watching it.
• Newsfeed: This is a minor feature, but the Newsfeed on the right side of the page shows the latest winnings for online casinos (in available states) and sports betting.
• Live Streaming: On the left side, there’s a link to Streaming Live with some international contests offering live streaming after logging into your account. This will allow you to watch select matches, such as tennis, to assist with live betting.

Desktop Experience

BetRivers has long been one of the most reliable betting sites in the industry. Many platforms have come and gone over the years, but BetRivers has maintained a streak of being in and around the top five. The user interface design is a bit more “cartoony” than others, which are most “modern-looking.” For example, the icons are different, and the overall look and feel are bigger and bolder. The font for numbers and letters differs from competitors like DraftKings and FanDuel. At the top of the site, you’ll find a menu of promotions, switching between states, rewards, responsible gaming, a help center, and a support center. There’s also a menu for sports at the top and to the left, with a search bar in the upper left.

On the right side, you’ll see the newsfeed, which shows live updates on players' wins, and there are also options for betting on premade Same Game Parlays built by BetRivers.

Navigating the site is incredibly simple, and while it’s different in appearance from other sites, it’s incredibly easy to get your way around the site. It provides a new experience with a new twist to online sports betting, especially with the rewards program that scales as you play more on the site.

Mobile App Experience

When it comes to online sports betting, betting apps are an absolute must to not only offer but also be as functional and fluid as possible. This will be the primary way bettors engage with online sportsbooks. BetRivers has one betting app that covers all of the states it’s live in. Thankfully, the mobile app is set up in a way similar to the desktop. There’s a menu at the top for the sports, a search bar, and a collapsible menu in the upper left for the BetRivers online casino (in available onlline casino states), promotions, the home page for the sportsbook, rewards, and a help center. This collapsible menu has the same options as the menu that’s atop the desktop site but is instead put here due to the condensed screen size.

When browsing through the various pages, we didn’t encounter any lag whatsoever, and adding our selections to the betslip was smooth and without lag or buffering.

Mobile Web Browser Experience

If you prefer to engage with BetRivers on a mobile web browser, it’s available. In terms of the setup, it mimics the mobile app. Of course, the effectiveness of it has to do with your data and Internet connection, so it can run a bit slower compared to the mobile app at the time.

Yes. BetRivers is also an online casino available in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Does BetRivers Have Online Poker?

No. BetRivers doesn’t offer online poker.

BetRivers does have an online social casino and sportsbook, BetRivers.net. Here, you can play solely for fun, whether it’s the online casino or “Sports Zone.” Again, there are no monetary stakes here.

BetRivers hasn’t launched in any new states early on in 2024. However, as mentioned, more states are coming into the online sports betting space, which could provide an opportunity for it. North Carolina is a new market that BetRivers could look at this year, but they have not submitted for a license ahead of the state's sports betting launch.

BetRivers is considered among the better online sportsbooks, but not quite in the same breath as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, or Caesars.

Moving forward, you can expect consistency and a polished product from BetRivers.

BetRivers Sportsbook is one of the best places for online sports betting in the United States. The welcome bonus isn’t as intriguing as other sites. Still, it’s proven to be a valuable platform in every other way. For select underdogs and futures wagers, BetRivers tends to have better odds.
