If you’re a sports fan, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Sports Illustrated. Yes, the magazine launched in 1954 and started the swimsuit editions 10 years later.

Fast-forward to 2021, and SI partnered with 888 Sports to launch Sports Illustrated Sportsbook in Colorado. Today, it’s live in three states—Colorado, Virginia, and Michigan.

As a new player at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, you’ll receive $200 in free bets when you wager $20 on a contest with odds of at least +120.

Below, we’ll cover everything related to SI Sportsbook, including bonuses/promotions, the registration process, banking methods, markets to bet on, and much more.

All SI Sportsbook Bonuses and Promotions Review

Sign Up Bonus

As a new player at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, you’ll receive $200 in free bets when you wager just $20. You’ll need to wager the $20 on a contest with minimum odds of +120. The free bet tokens will hit your account after the bet settles, and you’ll have seven days to use the free bets.

With free bets, you won’t receive the amount of that wager back with a successful wager. So, if you have a $20 free bet and wager it on something with +100 odds and win, instead of getting $40 ($20 wager and $20 winnings), you’ll get just the $20 winnings.

The Sports Illustrated promo code for this offer is “SI200.”

SI Sportsbook Sign Up Bonus Terms

This offer is valid in Colorado, Virginia, and Michigan and is good through October 10, 2024. You must be at least 21 years old to use this offer.

After using SI Sportsbook promo code “SI200” and betting $20 on something with minimum odds of +120, you’ll get $200 in free bets. Instead of one $200 free bet, you’ll get eight $25 free bet tokens.

SI Sportsbook: Loyalty Program

While there is an area of the site that says “Rewards,” there’s no link attached to it. Thus, it appears SI Sportsbook will eventually have a rewards program, but not now.

SI Sportsbook: Refer to A Friend

There is currently no SI Sportsbook refer-a-friend program.

Other Ongoing Promotions and Bonuses

In addition to the welcome bonus laid out above, two other offers are available for existing players. Below, we’ll cover both of these in detail.

SI Sportsbook Take Home History

When you place 22 wagers of $10 on contests with minimum odds of -150, you’ll receive a $100 credit to use at SI Covers, where you can purchase a piece of SI history. To use this offer, you’ll need to use Sports Illustrated promo code “SICOVERS100.”

There’s no expiration date noted.

Existing Player Promotions Wrap Up

The offers above are available in all legal SI Sportsbook states, but remember this can change anytime. These offers could be pulled from the site at any time.

How to Register to SI Sportsbook

The registration process at SI Sportsbook takes just a few minutes to complete and is easy to do. Below, we’ll go through the process and claim the offer step-by-step.

  • Go to the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook site or download the SI Sportsbook app. It’s available for iOS and Android devices.
  • Click on “Sign Up” in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  • Select the state you wish to play in.
  • The registration process is just two steps.
  • The first step includes providing your name, address, date of birth, and last four digits of your social security number.
  • The second step asks for your email, mobile number, password, security question, and terms and conditions.
  • After your account is verified, head to the deposit page.
  • Here, choose the method you want to use and use Sports Illustrated promo code “SI200.”
  • Head back to the homepage and wager $20 on a contest with minimum odds of +120.
  • After the wager settles, you’ll receive eight $25 free bets and have seven days to use them.

SI Sportsbook: Leagues and Markets to Bet On

At SI Sportsbook, you’ll have numerous sports and ways to bet on those sports. The most popular bet types include point spreads, moneylines, totals, futures, prop bets, and more.

Below, we’ll cover the popular sports/leagues and the notable bet types available for them.

Basketball

NBA

SI Sportsbook is a fantastic NBA betting site. On top of getting daily articles from SI writers integrated into the site to receive insight into how you should bet, there are many ways to wager on the sport. In addition to the moneyline, spread, and total, you can bet on Same Game Parlays, player props, futures, and more.

NCAA Basketball

Not only is SI Sportsbook a great NCAA basketball betting site, but it’s also a great March Madness betting site. On top of that tournament and the exclusive SI sportsbook promo offers that’ll come with it, you can bet on futures, moneyline, spread, total, props, NBA finals betting, and more.

Baseball

MLB

Baseball is a long season, and SI Sportsbook has proven to be a great MLB betting site all season long. You’ll be able to bet on player awards, futures for pennant, division, and World Series winners, as well as props, moneyline, run line, total, and more.

As far as being a good baseball betting site or World Series betting site, SI Sportsbook has proven it’ll come to the table with great end-of-season promotions for all sports.

Football

NFL

It’s hard to find bad NFL betting sites, but SI Sportsbook is among the best. There are exclusive promos for the NFL playoffs, and you can get on the moneyline, spread, totals, futures, playoff odds, and more. As far as football betting sites go, SI Sportsbook is one of the best because of its promotional offers. Just wait—it’ll be a fantastic Super Bowl betting site when the time comes.

NCAA Football

When it comes to NCAA Football betting sites, SI Sportsbook does well because, again, like the NBA, there’s so much content to be written about football. Thus you’ll get so much analysis from talented writers. With NCAA Football, you can bet on the moneyline, spread, total, props, futures, parlays, and also wager on NFL Draft picks.

Hockey

NHL

Hockey can get lost in the fray amongst the other popular US sports, but you better believe that SI Sportsbook is a great NHL betting site. Live betting on hockey can be exciting, but you’ll also have the puck line, moneyline, total, props, futures, and Stanley Cup Finals betting.

Other Sports

Some of the other ways SI Sportsbook succeeds is by being a great soccer betting site, boxing betting site, golf betting site ( including betting on the PGA), MMA betting site ( including betting on the UFC), tennis betting site, and also offering NASCAR betting and PGA Championship betting. The odds on all events are fair and up to par with competitors, and you’ll find other niche sports like volleyball, snooker, darts, cricket, and more.

SI Sportsbook: Odds

At SI Sportsbook, many ways to bet, and numerous odds are available across those many bet types.

While there aren’t any daily odds boosts available, this is a promotion that SI Sportsbook has been known to offer in the past.

When compared to other sportsbooks, SI Sportsbook stacks up well.

For example, when compared to DraftKings Sportsbook, we found that the odds were the same for the NFL AFC and NFC Championship games. These are top events, so sportsbooks may be unable to afford to be “worse” than their competitors. Still, it’s important to note that they’re keeping up with more prominent and well-known platforms.

SI Sportsbook: Live Betting

Live betting is offered at SI Sportsbook. When you click on each sport, you’ll see available live games offering betting options. There’s also a page dedicated to live betting that you can sort through for the sport and game you want to bet on.

When you click on the game, there’s no game cast-like feature that provides updates on the game other than the score. However, on this page, you’ll find all the available bet types, from the moneyline, spread, and total, to props.

SI Sportsbook: Live Streaming

Live streaming is not available at SI Sportsbook.

SI Sportsbook: Parlay Bets

Parlay betting is available at SI Sportsbook in traditional, Same Game, and live betting formats.

  • Traditional: Parlay together multiple games/contests onto one betslip.
  • Same Game: Parlay together the moneyline, spread, totals, or props from a single game.
  • Live betting: Create a parlay using live betting odds.

With parlay bets, the betslip will combine the odds of each contest and provide a bit more depending on the number of legs because of the additional risk associated.

For a parlay to succeed, all legs must win. If even one leg loses, the entire parlay loses.

SI Sportsbook: Early Cash Out

Early cash out is available at SI Sportsbook. This feature allows you to bail from a bet prematurely to either salvage some of your original wager or take a portion of your winnings before the game goes south.

For example, if you wager on a game before it starts and it begins to go poorly, you can cash out and get a portion of your wager back to get it back in your virtual wallet and try again on something else.

SI Sportsbook: Perfect 10

Perfect 10 is a free-to-play game where you can win $10,000. It’s quite simple to get started. All you need to do is log into your account, select 10 games against the spread, and if you get them all correct, you’ll share the $10k prize with other players who also got all 10 right.

SI Sportsbook: BetFeed

SI Sportsbook has a feature known as BetFeed and it’s exactly what the name says—a feed about bets. Here, you’ll be able to see recent bets that were made by players. This can help you decide on certain wagers and you can sort them by Most Recent, Most Popular, and Start Time.

SI Sportsbook: User Experience - Text 1

SI Sportsbook is available on desktop and offers mobile betting apps. We’ve taken the time to look over both platforms, and below, we’ll review our experience.

Mobile App

The SI Sportsbook mobile app is available for iOS and Android users. We’ve taken our time to examine the app in full detail, and we’ll break down this review into multiple components.

  • Appearance: Upon launching the app, the screen that opens before the sportsbook appears is a background with multiple legendary SI covers. When the app opens, you’ll find an aesthetically-pleasing site with the signature red and white SI color scheme. There’s a menu toward the middle of the app that’s like a carousel in that it changes every few seconds showing the latest offers, which is quite eye-catching—no complaints about the appearance.
  • App Layout: Starting at the top, you’ll see the log-in/registration links in the upper right, and in the upper left, you’ll find a collapsible menu. This menu has links to everything you see on the left side of the desktop page, including links to sports, promotions, BetFeed, live betting, and more. There’s a horizontal menu on the homepage for sports and live betting, followed by promotions. On the homepage, you’ll see the featured live games. The bottom of the app has a menu to go back to the homepage, live betting, search for sports, and promotions. The layout is simple and easy to follow, which is a success in our book.
  • Bet slip and Building a Bet: When you’ve found the contest you want to bet on and select it, a miniature version of the betslip will appear at the bottom o the app. You’ll see the odds, a place to input your wager, the payout amount, and an option to open up the full bet slip. You’ll see options for single, parlay, and round robin bets when you open it up. There’s also a calculator-like appearance for inputting the amount you want to wager, with options to add $5, $10, or $50. The bet slip will also have a drop-down that shows “People who bet on this also bet on…” and offers other bets you may be interested in based on the one you made—a pretty exciting feature!
  • Live Betting: Live betting is available and is accessible through the menu at the bottom of the app, on the homepage, or the collapsible menu in the upper left corner of the app. Here, you’ll see a menu along the top with the number of games available in each sport. When you click on the game, you’ll know the score, but there aren’t any features showing live updates happening in the game. You’ll also find all of the available betting options. This is a relatively rudimentary live betting page compared to other betting sites, but it’s OK.
  • Speed/Stability: When looking over this app, we didn’t run into any lag or buffering, even going from page to page. We tried the equivalent of a “stress test,” meaning we tried to click on as many pages as quickly as possible, and the app handled it well.

How To Download the App

  • If you have an iOS device, go to the Apple App Store.
  • If you have an Android device, go to the Google Play Store.
  • Search “SI Sportsbook.”
  • Click on the “Sports Illustrated: Sportsbook” app.
  • Click download.
  • Open the app.
  • Determine if you want to allow notifications.
  • Click the registration button in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Complete the process, make a deposit, and start betting.

Mobile Web

If you’d like, you can access SI Sportsbook through your mobile web browser. The nice thing about this, especially coming off of looking at the mobile app, is that the mobile web browser is identical to the mobile app.

So if you can’t access the mobile app for whatever reason, you’ll already know how to use the mobile browser version as it’s a direct carbon copy.

SI Sportsbook Web

Whether you try the web-based version of the mobile app first, you’ll be happy to know that they’re all pretty much the same. The web-based version is fantastic, offering the collapsible menu in the upper left on the mobile app on the left side of the page—it’s always there. This has links to everything to navigate the site, including sports, Perfect 10 game, Betfeed, and more.

The middle of the page has exactly what we talked about on the mobile app and links to content on the SI website.

As for the betslip, this also exists on the right side of the page and will always be visible when playing.

Not only are the aesthetics great, but the navigation, finding the sports you want to bet on, and making a bet on the bet slip makes for a top-tier betting experience.

SI Sportsbook: Customer Support

There is SI sportsbook customer service available. Below, we’ll look at each of those methods and how to contact each of them.

  • Email: support-co@sisportsbook.com
  • Phone: 1-833-451-8003
  • Live Chat: N/A
  • Support languages: English

SI Sportsbook: Security, Licenses and Reputation

Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is a licensed and legal online sportsbook available in Colorado, Virginia, and Michigan. It has a partnership with 888, a gambling company based overseas that also has an online casino available in New Jersey.

888 has talked about expanding SI Sportsbook to other states.

In these states, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook has licenses from the following government entities:

  • Colorado: Colorado Division of Gaming
  • Michigan: Michigan Gaming Control Board
  • Virginia: Virginia Lottery

The site has thousands of reviews, including over 1,000 on the Apple App Store. This is a site you can trust, and it is entirely legitimate.

SI Sportsbook: Betting on Horse Racing Review

There’s no horse racing SI sports betting available, so you may need to turn to TVG betting in the meantime.

SI: Online Casino

There is no online casino at Sports Illustrated Sportsbook. Thus, we are unable to conduct an SI casino review.

That said, SI Sportsbook is in partnership with 888, a well-known online casino platform across the world and New Jersey, so it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for SI to expand into the online casino world.

SI: Online Poker Review

Sports Illustrated Sportsbook does not have online poker on its platform. As mentioned in the online casino portion above, as long as 888 is involved, it’s possible, especially as SI Sportsbook comes to more legal online gambling states.

SI Sportsbook Future Plans

As you’ve already gathered, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is available in three states. However, 888 (the company Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is partnered with) has mentioned plans for SI Sportsbook to expand to New Jersey (SI sportsbook NJ), Indiana, and Iowa in the future.

To learn about these updates and others about Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, be sure to bookmark our legal sports betting states page.

SI Sportsbook Review Conclusion

Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is legal in three states and is the product of a collaboration with 888. There are some flaws here in terms of the lack of live chat customer support, a less-than-stellar live betting page, and somewhat-high minimum odds on the welcome bonus, but other than that, it’s hard to find much to complain about.

We listed three things there, but the live betting page is OK—it could be better. Regarding the minimum odds, they’re +120, which isn’t out of control. Still, it is high compared to other minimum odds on welcome bonuses.

The main flaw that we at usalegalbetting.com found is the lack of live chat support.

However, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook excels in the betting markets, sports, and overall user interface design and experience for both the SI Sportsbook app and desktop site.

We thoroughly enjoy the NFL-based offers, BetFeed, and Perfect 10 game. The feature on the betslip recommending other wagers based on the bet you’re making is like shopping on Amazon, but for bets—it’s a feature we’ve never seen.

We highly recommend giving the site a try after conducting our Sports Illustrated Sportsbook review if you’re in one of the legal states. As always, keep up with us here for more updates on the site and as it continues to branch out across the United States.
