For a direct comparison, though, PointsBet doesn't offer nearly as valuable odds on NFL Super Bowl winners, with many teams 50 points shy of the mark at other sites.

• Live Betting: Wager on games as they're actively in progress, including betting markets such as moneyline, point spread, totals, props, and more.
• Cash Out: This feature allows you to exit a bet early for strategic and financial reasons. You can save a portion of your bet if your wager is not going as planned or get a portion of the potential winnings by bailing early when winning.
• PointsBetting: The best way to explain this feature is to provide an example. Say an NBA game has 200 points, and you bet $10 on the over. At the end of the game, the score is 110-100. Instead of winning your wager with something like -110 odds, with PointsBetting, your wager is multiplied by the number of points you were correct. Since the total here was 210, you'd win $10 multiplied by 10, meaning you'd win $100.
• Live Streaming: Live streaming is available for select international contests, including Soccer and Tennis. You can navigate it through a link in the collapsible drop-down menu in the upper left of the desktop site.

Desktop Experience

PointsBet does offer a desktop betting experience. When arriving on the site, you must choose which state you’re playing in. There’s a link at the top to “Locations,” and you’ll pick the state from a drop-down menu. Once you open the site, you’ll find it quite streamlined, especially compared to other betting sites in the industry.

The menu of sports available is in the middle of the page, with odds for features and live games on the homepage. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find links to customer support, information about PointsBetting, and more. In the upper left, there’s a collapsible drop-down menu. This menu is the main directory around the site, including links to the sport, live betting, live streaming, and more.

We found getting around the site quite easy, especially locating betting markets we were interested in.

Mobile App Experience

The PointsBet Sportsbook mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple App or Google Play Store. When you launch the app, you’ll find it’s much like the desktop site. The menu of sports is in the middle of the app, as well as ods for featured and live games. Along the bottom of the app is a static menu with links to the live betting page, search function, your betting history, and the collapsible menu on the desktop site.

Compared to the top betting apps, PointsBet holds up with its bold texts, poignant color scheme, and easy navigation that can be done by simply opening one menu.

Mobile Web Browser Experience

The mobile web browser experience is the same as the mobile app, but a pop-up appears encouraging you to download the mobile.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find links to the various PointsBet customer service options. These include the following:

Yes. PointsBet does have an online casino. It’s available in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Currently, seven states have legal online gambling, and PointsBet Casino is available in four.

Beyond an online sportsbook and casino, PointsBet does offer online horse racing betting. This platform is available in Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, Ohio, and West Virginia. You cannot bet on horse racing through the online sportsbook, so here, you can wager on horse races.

Moving forward, we could see less of a PointsBet presence with the Fanatics acquisition. As we’ve already seen, Fanatics is looking to take over the PointsBet license in specific states. We’ll provide more updates whenever there’s new news related to PointsBet but don’t expect much expansion, if any at all.

Overall, PointsBet Sportsbook has impacted the United States sports betting scene since coming here in January 2019. With partnerships involving Drew Brees and various organizations, PointsBet has brought PointsBetting, one of the most enjoyable ways to wager on a game, especially the over/under for an NBA matchup. It comes with its fair share of risk, but the reward upside makes it appealing.

With the Fanatics acquisition, though, it feels like players might be on borrowed time, at least at the time of this PointsBet Sportsbook review. We’ll have to wait to learn more about the future, but whether PointsBet stays or goes, this platform has been excellent for online sports betting.
