Packers vs Lions

Green Bay Packers Official LogoDetroit Lions Official LogoThe Packers picked up a big win last week and are suddenly back in the NFC playoff picture. The offense has looked far better, with quarterback Jordan Love playing better and wide receiver Jayden Reed turning into a playmaker. The Green Bay defense also continues to thrive, limiting a good Chargers offense to 20 points last week. While we think that helps them keep this a one-score game, the loss of Aaron Jones takes the possibility of an upset off the table.

The Lions survived an upset scare from the Bears last week after scoring 16 points in the game's final three minutes. While the win moved the Lions’ record to 8-2, it raises serious concerns about their defense. They struggled to contain Justin Fields, who returned after missing a month with an injury. They have some weaknesses against the pass, which will keep this game close. While we like them to get the win, we don’t expect it to be pretty.

Commanders vs Cowboys

Washington Commanders Official LogoDallas Cowboys Official LogoThe Commanders started the season strong, but things have fallen apart thanks to their awful defense. The unit was exposed by a terrible Giants team last week, allowing them to score a season-high 31 points. While we like their offense, Washington’s defensive struggles will be exposed on the road against a great Dallas offense. Look for this one to get out of hand early, leading to a high-scoring blowout.

Many people expected the Cowboys’ defense to fall apart after losing Trevon Diggs, but they continue to be one of the best units in football. They have dominated opponents, allowing just 27 points over their last two games. They have shut down offenses far better than Washington, signaling they should be in store for another big day on Thanksgiving. Combine that with an offense that has scored 33 or more points in three of their previous four games, and you have a recipe for an easy cover.

49ers vs Seahawks

San Francisco 49ers Official LogoSeattle Seahawks Official LogoThe Niners’ slump is officially over, thanks to their stringing two impressive wins together. One big reason for the turnaround is quarterback Brock Purdy. The 23-year-old was near perfect in their win against Tampa last week, completing 84% of his passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns. He has brought the offense back to life, and they should have no problem capitalizing on a Seattle defense that ranks twenty-third in yards allowed (345.6 YDS/G).

The Seahawks have not looked good over the last three weeks. They were blown out by Baltimore and barely outdueled Washington before losing to the Rams last week. They have had problems on both sides of the ball, which is a big problem against a well-balanced team like San Francisco. Expect Geno Smith to struggle against the Niners’ pass rush as the defense struggles to stop Christian McCaffrey and the Niners’ offense.

Dolphins vs Jets

Miami Dolphins Official LogoNew York Jets Official LogoWe have little doubt that Miami will win this game, but they have not looked like themselves over their previous two games. Losing to Kansas City is one thing, but barely sneaking by the Raiders is bad. One reason for their struggles is quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is struggling to hold onto the football. He has 17 turnovers in ten games, which will be a problem against an elite Jets defense. Miami is the better team and will win, but turnovers will keep the game closer than 10 points.

Things are horrible in New York. Zach White appears to have reached the end of the road for the Jets, replaced by veteran backup Tim Boyle. Now the team has signed Joe Flacco, a sign that White’s tenure as the starter is over. While a new quarterback could breathe life into this offense, they will be up against a Dolphins team with two great cornerbacks, Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard. We know the defense is great, but we see the Jets’ offense costing them yet another game on Friday.

Patriots vs Giants

New England Patriots Official LogoNew York Giants Official LogoThe Patriots will be coming off a Week 11 bye this weekend, but it won’t change how bad this team is. They have lost three straight games, and their record sits at 2-8, largely thanks to the offense's ineptitude. Mac Jones is terrible, with ten interceptions through ten games. He doesn’t have any playmakers to work with, but a better quarterback could have landed this team a few more wins. As good as their defense is, the lack of offense will cost the Pats yet another game on Sunday.

The Giants are coming off of one of their best wins of the season, beating the Commanders 31-19 in Washington, D.C. Undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns, breathing life back into this New York offense. While he may not be the future of this franchise, he has looked better than the other quarterbacks on the roster. The Pats’ defense is good, but they don’t generate a ton of pressure on the quarterback, who will let DeVito work a bit, leading them to an ugly win.

Bills vs Eagles

Buffalo Bills Official LogoPhiladelphia Eagles Official LogoWhile beating the Jets isn’t special, the Bills blowout win against them last week was huge. Buffalo had lost three of their previous four games, dropping their record to 5-5 and jeopardizing their postseason hopes. Josh Allen struggled but had a bounce-back game against New York, passing for 275 yards and three touchdowns. We see him having a lot of success against a bad Eagles secondary, leading to a high-scoring loss for the Bills.

The Eagles have the best record in football and looked like the favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII. They have an elite offense and run defense, though they have struggled to stop the pass. Their issues in the secondary are concerning, but it hasn’t stopped them from picking up big wins against the Chiefs, Cowboys, and Dolphins over the last month. While the Bills bounced back last week, we think they will be in way over their heads against this great Eagles team.

Ravens vs Chargers

Baltimore Ravens Official LogoLos Angeles Chargers Official LogoWhile we have concerns over the Ravens' play towards the end of games, we think they will efficiently dispose of the Chargers this weekend. They were fantastic against the Bengals last week, though their job was made more accessible when Joe Burrow left with an injury. Baltimore ranks in the top seven in the league in yards gained (366.5 YDS/G), scoring (27.6 PTS/G), yards allowed (273.5), and opponent scoring (16.1 PTS/G). That shows how well-balanced this Ravens team is, which is a big reason why we see them dominating a weak LA team on Sunday night.

Things have not been going well for the Chargers this season. The offense has been able to overcome the loss of wide receiver Mike Williams, but they have not been able to make up for the defense's poor play. While their pass rush was improving, the loss of Joey Bosa took away their top weapon. While Herbert is good enough to keep the Charges in games, the Ravens are just too good for him to overcome the Chargers' many issues.

Bears vs Vikings

Chicago Bears Official LogoMinnesota Vikings Official LogoThe Bears are a very different team when Justin Fields is healthy. They showed that last week when they fell just short of a road upset against the Lions. Fields rushed for over 100 yards on the ground and re-connected him with top receiver DJ Moore for 96 yards and a touchdown. The Fields-Moore combination was turning into one of the best in the league before Fields was hurt. Given the Vikings' soft pass defense, we think the duo will find enough success to steal a badly needed-win from Minnesota.

The Vikings' five-game win streak ended on Sunday when they lost to the Broncos. They allowed Russell Wilson to have one of his best games of the season while the Minnesota offense underwhelmed. While the Broncos are a much different team than at the start of the season, the loss still shows some major holes on the Vikings roster. We think they will get beat by an improving Bears team on Monday night, but check Justin Jefferson's status before placing your bet.
