Highlights

  • William Byron led all drivers with six wins last season
  • Chase Elliott has finished in the top ten in three of the previous four Daytona 500 races
  • AJ Allmendinger finished sixth in last season’s Daytona 500

Another Super Bowl is in the books, which means the Daytona 500 is here at least. NASCAR’s biggest race kicks off their 2024 season on Sunday at 2:30 PM EST. The iconic event is in its 66th year and has given us some of the most thrilling finishes in the history.

Below, we will share our three favorite bets to win this year’s Daytona 500, giving everything you need to bet confidently at US sportsbooks this weekend.

William Byron

Odds to Win Daytona 500: +1600 at BetMGM Sportsbook

William Byron is set to break out in 2024. The 26-year-old has been fantastic after his first six years in the NASCAR Cup Series, finishing third last year. He finished with a whopping six wins, leading the rest of the field.

While Byron did not finish last year’s Daytona 500, he has won at the track twice. He has tended to struggle in the Daytona 500 but come out strong when NASCAR returns to the track towards the end of the season. Given his young age and impressive 2023 campaign, we believe that trend is going to end on Sunday.

On top of being a fantastic driver, Byron also has the advantage of racing for Hendrick Motorsports. The team has the second most Daytona 500 wins in history and could tie for the lead with Petty Racing if Byron wins on Sunday.

Given his favorable price and performance last season, we think this is the year he makes his mark in the sports most famous race.

Chase Elliott

Odds to Win Daytona 500: +1200 at FanDuel Sportsbook

If you can take Chase Elliott to win a race at this price, you have to take it. The 28-year-old regressed a bit last season, but we see a big bounce back in 2024. He has won the NASCAR Cup Series regular season championship twice in the previous four seasons, showing that he is one of the best drivers on the circuit.

Surprisingly, Elliott has yet to win a Daytona 500. He won the pole position twice when he was just entering the league and has come close several times, including a second-place finish in 2021. He wrecked in last season’s Daytona 500 but finished in the top ten in the two seasons before.

While there is some concern at how Elliott will come out after a disappointing 2023 campaign, but his current price is just too good to pass up on.

AJ Allmendinger

Odds to Win Daytona 500: +6600 at BetRivers Sportsbook

If you are looking for a chance to win a massive payout on Sunday’s race, AJ Allmendinger is the way to go. The veteran driver has 430 NASCAR races over 15 seasons. While he has just three wins to his name, he also owns 75 top-ten finishes. Allmendinger, also knowns as “Dinger”.

The 42-year-old is in the tail-end of his career, returning the league last season after a four-year absence. Dinger didn’t have a great season, but he did kick things off with a bang as he finished sixth at the Daytona 500. Before his return in 2023, he had finished in the top ten in five straight events at the world-famous track.

Dinger is not going to dominate the race, but we love him at this price. Dinger knows his chance to capture a Daytona 500 is quickly slipping away, and it could lead to a monster effort on Sunday. Add that motivation to his success at the track, and you can see why we are betting on Dinger to win the Daytona 2024.
