The College Football Playoff field is set and promises to deliver some exciting football this holiday season. The Michigan Wolverines, Washington Huskies, Texas Longhorns, and Alabama Crimson Tide made the field and will compete for the 2023 National Championship in January. Below, we will share the odds for each team to win as well as why we think they could do it.

If you are looking to bet on the year’s College Football Playoffs at NCAAAF betting sites this winter, you have come to the right place.

#1 Michigan Wolverines

Odds to win FBS Championship: +175 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Michigan has a ton of talent, but we think their play over the final three weeks of the season shows they can win it all. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh was banned from the sideline for the final three regular season games after a sign-stealing scandal. That created a ton of drama for the team as they prepared to face Penn State and Ohio State, but they won both in impressive fashion.

The Wolverines went on to shutout Iowa in the Big Ten Championship. Their ability to overcome the drama to get those key wins says a lot about the makeup of this team, as well as the rest of the coaching staff. We now know that they will not falter under the bright lights and against a team as prestigious as Alabama, especially with Harbaugh back on the sideline.

#2 Washington Huskies

Odds to win FBS Championship: +800 at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Huskies earned the second seed in the College Football Playoffs after an impressive upset of #5 Oregon in the Pac-12 championship game. BetMGM Sportsbook had Washington as a 9.5-point underdog, but they led almost the entire game enroute to a 34-31 victory. It was the second time they beat the Ducks this season, showing it was not a fluke.

Washington has the longest odds to win the College Football Playoffs due to having some holes, especially on defense. However, quarterback Michael Penix Jr (4,218 yds, 33 TD, 9 INT) gives them a chance to beat anyone in the country. The senior leads the nation in passing yards and helped the Huskies average the eleventh most points per game in the country (37.7).

If Penix is healthy, Washington will have a chance to capture a National Championship.

#3 Texas Longhorns

Odds to win FBS Championship: +260 at Fanduel Sportsbook

The Longhorns earned a spot in the College Football Playoffs after blowing out #18 Oklahoma State 49-21 in the Big 12 Championship game. Their lone loss came against #12 Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, but they bounced back to win seven straight to close out the season. While Texas stumbled a bit against Kansas State and TCU, they finished their season outscoring their final three opponents 132-44.

We can talk about the impressive Texas offense, but the reason we know Texas can win a national championship is their 34-24 win at Alabama. That game came back in September, but very few teams have accomplished that feat. Their explosive offense had no problem dominated the Tide’s defense in front of a hostile crowd, sealing their most important win in recent memory.

#4 Alabama Crimson Tide

Odds to win FBS Championship: +210 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Alabama caused some chaos in the FBS when they defeated top-ranked Georgia to win the SEC Championship. The win knocked the reigning national champions out of the playoffs, causing bookmakers to immediately make them a favorite to win yet another national championship. While the team’s stats don’t jump off the page, winning the nation’s toughest conference shows how good they are.

Alabama may have the clearest path to a National Championship of these four teams. They will face a Michigan team that was not challenged much in the Big Ten in the semis. That will set up a Championship game against a flawed Washington team or a Texas squad that played a few too many close games against average teams.

Combine that with the fact that they have one of the greatest college coaches in history, and you have a recipe for a title.
