  • Tony Pollard gashed the Packers last season for 115 yards and a touchdown

The NFL playoffs are here, which means daily fantasy sports leagues are about to get a lot more difficult. Each week will feature a smaller pool of players to choose from, making finding the hidden gems even more important.

Below, we will share three low-cost/high-volume players we will be rostering for the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend. We’ll provide you the insights on each that you’ll need to win big this weekend.

Joe Flacco – QB Cleveland Browns

Joe Flacco hasn’t just been a nice story; he’s been one of the best quarterbacks in the league over the final few weeks of the season. While turnovers have been a problem, he threw for 1,616 yards and 13 touchdowns in just five games. This Browns offense was built to compete for a Super Bowl, and Flacco has been capitalizing on that.

Flacco will be facing a Texans defense that has a lot of young talent, but they have been inconsistent all season. While they have been stout against the run, they finished the season ranked twenty-third in the league against the pass (234.1 YPG). Their youth means they have little playoff experience on the roster, which will be a factor on the road this weekend.

Flacco is priced well below the top quarterbacks, giving you a great player and more money to spend on other positions.

Bo Melton – WR Green Bay Packers

Bo Melton was on the Packers practice squad most of the season, but he has taken on a starring role over the last two weeks. In those games, he has a combined 167 yards and a touchdown through the air. Green Bay also used him on the ground, rushing for 14 yards on two carries. Melton has been targeted 22 times in his last three games, meaning he has Jordan Love’s trust.

While the Packers will likely have most of their receivers back, many of them are still dealing with injuries. Christian Watson has missed five straight games and is questionable to play this weekend. Jayden Reed is expected to play, but he is dealing with an injury to his ribs which has caused him to leave a few games early. Those two players missing or being hobbled means Melton will once again play a big role.

If you are looking for a low-cost receiving option, Melton offers the most potential.

Tony Pollard Jr – RB Dallas Cowboys

While his season stats aren’t overly impressive, Tony Pollard is set up to succeed in Sunday’s matchup against the Packers. One reason we like his chances to go off is that he averaged 4.0 yards per carry this season. That shows how effective he has been as a rusher, despite an underwhelming yardage total. The Packers are allowing opponents to average 4.4 yards per carry, which is a good sign for Pollard.

The other reason we like this pick is that Pollard gashed the Packers last season for 115 yards and a touchdown. Their run defense has not improved this year, finishing the season allowing the fifth most rushing yards per game (128.3 YPG). Things will be even more difficult for their defense, who will also need to worry about the Cowboys elite pass attack.

Pollard is currently a bit cheaper than the first tier of running backs, but we believe he could end up delivering the most points of Wild Card Weekend.
