There are five weeks left in the College Football regular season, which means now is a great time to get your National Championship bets in. US sportsbooks have set two teams as large favorites to be crowned champion this winter. Below, we will provide odds and insights for both teams along with our favorite longshot.

If you are looking to win big at college football betting sites, you have come to the right place.

Michigan Wolverines

+225 to win 2023 National Championship at BetMGM Sportsbook

While a sign-stealing scandal has them under investigation by the NCAA, the Wolverines (8-0) have proven they are capable of being this year’s National Champion. However, they have not faced much competition through their first eight games. They do not have a win over a ranked opponent and still have #10 Penn State and #3 Ohio State coming up on the schedule.

The lack of competition is concerning, but there is no question that this Michigan defense is elite. They have not allowed more than ten points this season and lead the league by allowing just 5.9 points per game. The rank third in overall in yards allowed (226.8 YDS/G), thanks mostly to a pass defense that is allowing the fewest yards per game (141.0).

Having a quarterback like JJ McCarthy (1,799 YDS, 18 TD, 3 INT 78.1 COMP%) makes them a title favorite, but we are holding off on betting on them until we see them play Penn State in two weeks. The Wolverines have done everything they were supposed to do against bad teams, but we want to see if they can adjust to facing a top-ten opponent.

Georgia Bulldogs

+275 to win 2023 National Championship at DraftKings Sportsbook

Georgia (7-0) currently sits atop the CFP rankings and seem poised to repeat as National Champions. Like Michigan, they have benefited from an easy schedule. They faced one ranked team in #22 Kentucky and cruised to a 51-13. We will learn a lot more about how good this Bulldogs team is over the next month, with games against #16 Missouri, #12 Ole Miss, and #21 Tennessee on the schedule.

While Georgia doesn’t have the impressive defensive numbers as Michigan does, they still rank in the top ten in yards (262.6) and points (14.0) allowed per game. That shows how incredibly balanced this team is and why bookmakers like them to repeat as champions.

Georgia’s balance on both sides of the ball is why we prefer them over Michigan. We also give their impressive start more credit since they play in a far-deeper conference. This is probably the best price you’ll get for Georgia for the remainder of the season, so we are locking it in while we can.

Washington Huskies

+1300 to win 2023 National Championship at FanDuel Sportsbook

We love this 7-0 Washington team at their current price. They are currently leading a very good Pac-12 conference and posted an impressive 41-7 road win against Michigan State earlier this season. In true Pac-12 fashion, they have an elite offense, but their defense has some holes. They had their most impressive win when they beat #8 Oregon two weeks ago, showing us just how good this Huskies team is.

The reason we love Washington as a longshot to win the 2023 National Championship is quarterback Michael Penix Jr (2,576 YDS, 20 TD, 5 INT, 70.8 COMP%). The Heisman Trophy favorite has been incredible leading this offense. He has thrown for 4+ touchdowns in four of his seven games. That includes against Oregon where he threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

Now is the time to bet on Washington as the end of their schedule is loaded. They’ll face #24 USC on the road, #13 Utah at home, and #11 Oregon State on the road. Each win will drop their price, so we are locking it in before they hit the final brutal stretch of their schedule.
