  • Caesars and Fanatics will test-drive BetVision before other sportsbooks

Genius Sports Limited announced Tuesday the release of BetVision, a groundbreaking, immersive experience for sports bettors to use during the NFL season.

The new system will integrate live streaming with betting slips and a variety of statistical information to create a holistic experience for bettors. Customers will be allowed to place bets from the live-stream player inside their favorite online sportsbook or mobile betting app.

BetVision will only be available for NFL games in the U.S.

A groundbreaking way to watch the NFL

Genius Sports’ brand-new reveal provides yet another immersive experience for sports fans and the world of sports betting.

NFL games will be streamed with low latency and will be broadcast with a variety of overlays to enhance the user experience. Live betting odds and bet slips will also be added to the game screen with functionalities similar to those seen on the live-streaming platform Twitch.

Genius Sports is the NFL’s exclusive distributor of real-time statistics and data, including “Next Gen Stats,” which means that BetVision will be able to incorporate a host of different metrics and insights into the new service such as catch probability, time to release, and much more.

“We’re very pleased to be Genius’ first BetVision content partner as they continue to be on the cutting edge of sports betting experiences,” said Brent Lawton, NFL VP of Business Development & Strategic Investments. “BetVision allows us to create a differentiated way for fans to engage with NFL content.”

Users will be able to customize their viewing experience with BetVision. They may turn on or off different enhancements such as stats or other overlays to create a tailor-made experience.

Caesars Sportsbook and Fanatics Sportsbook will be the first platforms to receive access to the new product. Both operators will stream a variety of games weekly and will add new features as they are released throughout the course of the NFL season by Genius Sports.

Continued innovation

Genius Sports is a sports data and technology company that offers data and streaming services to sports leagues, media entities, and sportsbooks. It is partnered with over 400 sports organizations, including (beyond the NFL) the EPL, NCAA, NASCAR, and more.

BetVision was developed to increase user retention and engagement amid the ongoing battle among sportsbooks to acquire an audience. According to recent figures, top operators FanDuel and DraftKings are solidifying their positions in the market and drowning out competition, while others are taking steps backward.

“Sports fans and bettors alike increasingly demand personalized interaction, greater customization, and deeper insights combined with an ability to strike a bet seamlessly,” said Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports. “BetVision alone offers precisely that while giving sportsbooks a new way to drive engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.”

Snapshots of what BetVision looks like show an NFL game with a translucent overlay on the right covering roughly 1/3 of the screen. That overlay can be a bet slip (with associated odds and a bet now option) or a menu with stats.

BetVision will compete with other data-driven advancements in the world of sports. Amazon Prime, for example, streams Thursday Night Football and shows at least seven artificial intelligence-driven statistics based on 300 million pieces of data.
