As of March 2023, more than half of the United States has legal online sports betting (full states list). Bet365 Sportsbook is available in ten of those states.

So, in what states is Bet365 Sportsbook legal? It can be played in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.

The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 stood between the individual states and sports betting. In May 2018, 26 years later, it was repealed, allowing states to start working on legislation to launch sports betting. The first state to do so was New Jersey, launching just months later.

• 2020 - Bet365 Casino Teams Up with Playtech: Playtech, a gambling software development company, started offering online casino games. This was their first opportunity inside the United States.
• 2019 - Bet365 Lands on Atlantic City Shores: Over a year after the announcement, Bet365 launched in August 2019. This included its online sportsbook and casino.
• 2018 - Bet365 Announces US Expansion Plans: Shortly after PASPA was repealed, Bet365 announced that it would launch in the United States. It mentioned that it would be partnering with Hard Rock Casino, located in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
• May 2018 - PASPA Falls: The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act is repealed after a Murphy v. National Collegiate Atheltic Association case decision. It was determined that PASPA conflicted with the Tenth Amendment.
• 2001 - Denise Develops: In March 2001, Denise developed a “sports betting platform and trading team to launch the business online.”
• 2000 - Bet365 is Born: In 2020, Bet365 was founded in a portable building by the sibling duo of Denise and John Coates. To help launch the platform, they borrowed £15 million from the Royal Bank of Scotland against their family’s betting shop estate.
