Upcoming Launches

FanDuel continues to establish themselves as one of the top sportsbooks in the industry as they continue to grow. The sportsbook recently launched in Vermont and Kentucky, and are now turning their sites to North Carolina.

Customers in states where FanDuel is legal can expect all of the usual amenities, including expansive betting lines, bonuses and promotions, engagement opportunities, refined customer support, online and mobile betting apps, and everything else that bettors could ask for.

As expansion continues, FanDuel is only going to further its influence in the sports betting industry, meaning that it is a great time to at least become familiar with, if not join, the FanDuel sports betting team.

FanDuel Kentucky

FanDuel online betting went live in Kentucky on September 28, 2023, when the state's market launched..

The sportsbook partnered with two Churchill Downs race tracks and was approved for a sports betting license by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. They, along with DraftKings, have dominated the market in the short time since the launch.

The Bluegrass State officially legalized sports betting on March, 31, 2023, becoming the 34th state to do so. Retail sportsbooks went live on September 7, a few weeks before the online market launched.

However, new FanDuel users are still welcome to claim the FanDuel bonus code for a Bet $5, Get $150 offer, and returning customers can view FanDuel promotions and various ongoing deals in a dedicated tab.

FanDuel Ohio

Like Maryland, Ohio recently saw the floodgates open as bettors flocked to online sportsbook after the officially launch of legal sports betting in January 2023.

Ohio has been mulling sports betting for a few years following the PAPSA decision that saw a federal court open the door to sports betting in every state in the country. It took a lot of discourse, but Governor Mike DeWine signed off on a bill legalizing sports betting in December 2021,leading to the industries launch in January.

Ohio’s market figures to be one of the most active and most popular in the country. Nearby Illinois already has one of the largest sports betting handles in America, alongside Nevada, New York and New Jersey—as a result, the application-vetting process took almost an entire year.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission was in charge of setting up the market and will serve as a regulator and watchdog once it is live.

Legendary Cincinnati Reds player and maligned baseball superstar Pete Rose opened the new era by placing the first bet in the state’s history once the market opened at 12:01 a.m., January 1, 2023.

FanDuel California

If you were wondering “Is FanDuel legal in California,” the short answer is no, it is not. Sports betting as a whole is illegal in California due to the failures of Proposition 26 and Proposition 27 in the 2022 voting cycle.

All FanDuel Sportsbook Bonuses and Promotions

Sign Up Bonus

FanDuel is offering news players $150 in Bonus Bets if their initial wager of $5+ wins. This offer gives bettors a chance to win big right off the bat, but only if their bet wins, so be sure to choose wisely.

While the bonus bets cannot be withdrawn for cash, you will be able to keep any winnings from the bets placed with them. Your bonus bets will arrive within 72 hours of your $10 bet, but be sure to check your expiration date. Once these bonus bets expire, they will disappear from your account, so don't miss out!

FanDuel Sportsbook Sign Up Bonus Terms

Bonus Bets can be used anywhere on the FanDuel menu but cannot be withdrawn for cash and typically have an expiration date of 7 days. That time is liable to change, but at the time of writing, it is set at seven days.

Bonus Bets are also awarded within 48 hours—note that they cannot be swapped to other sportsbooks and are essentially native currency to the FanDuel sportsbook.

Any free bet tokens won during the welcome bonus or beyond can be reinvested to win cash prizes, but they cannot activate other FanDuel promotion opportunities.

FanDuel Sportsbook Bonus: Refer to A Friend

We have already gone over the details of the Bet $5, Get $150 offer, which is the FanDuel welcome bonus, and that there are other ongoing promotions, but we have not dived into the details of those.

Many promotions are time sensitive. For example, in the playoffs, some offers may only last the week leading up to the day of the event or even just for a few hours before kick-off. The same can be said for various other deals found on FanDuel and other major sportsbooks.

One major recurring deal is the FanDuel referral bonus. Essentially, this deal allows every player to become an affiliate of FanDuel and earn bonuses for their time.

To get involved, you must first locate your referral link. Once you have done so, send it to someone you know, and if they sign up through your link, you will receive $50 in free bets. Every account used with the link must be a new entity with no ties to FanDuel, or else the deal will be invalidated.

Customers who sign up using a referral link must fulfill the wager requirement within 28 days to finalize the free bet bonus for the referring customer. FanDuel patrons can only redeem 10 referral bonuses, which is a total of $500 in free bets.

Referrers and referees must be at least 21 years old and in any state where the FanDuel sportsbook is legal. Unused rewards earned through the referral bonus will be withdrawn from customer accounts if they are not used in whole within 14 days.

A full list of terms and conditions can be found on FanDuel’s website in the promotions section. You can also contact FanDuel customer support if you have questions or problems during any point of the process.

Other Ongoing FanDuel Sportsbook Promotions and Bonuses

As one of the top online betting sites, FanDuel is constantly chopping and changing its promotions for returning customers, separate from its new-user sign-up bonus.

Deals can be restricted to states or markets. So, a FanDuel promo code in Louisiana might differ from the FanDuel sportsbook PA offer or a FanDuel promo code for NY.

The deals entail different prizes and come with different time frames, so it is important to check FanDuel’s promotions tab to see what is available in the present.

At the time of writing, there is just one other promotion FanDuel users will find available to them.

UFC Profit Boost

FanDuel is giving away a 25% Profit Boost Token to all players that hit the "claim now" button on the FanDuel promos page. This offers pops up with FanDuels throughout the UFC season, but it usually only lasts a week at a time so keep your eyes peeled. Simply claim the offer and place any UFC bet using the Profit Boost Token, and you'll be qualified for a big payout if the bet wins. The only exception are parlay bets, as FanDuel does not allow these tokens to be applied to those.

FanDuel Deposit Methods Review

FanDuel deposit methods come in a variety of forms and mediums. Whether you prefer to whip out your credit card, wire money from your bank, or use a third-party Ewallet, your request will be accommodated with one of FanDuel’s many deposit options.

Here, we will go over every way that you can send money to your FanDuel account.

VISA/MasterCard/Discover/Credit/Debit: FanDuel customers will be able to deposit money by using debit or credit cards from VISA, Matercard, and American Express (AMEX). Many people already have their card information stored to their phones or computers which makes this a convenient method of deposit.

Credit card companies can impose processing fees which is something to watch out for. Tracking money with credit cards is easy because you can log into your banking app and quickly see how your account balance changes.

ACH(E-Check): Using E-checks to pay for deposits is a guaranteed safe method of transfer trusted by many sportsbooks. All that you have to do is supply your ID number, routing number, and account number, as well as the amount of money that you want to deposit.

As long as you have that information readily available, you will be able to freely move money to your FanDuel account.

Check: Although no longer as popular an option of payment as it once was, FanDuel users can deposit money into their account via check. You will be subject to a longer processing time but can rest assured that your money is being handled without the chance of online interference (although we 100% trust all methods approved by FanDuel).

PayPal: PayPal is one of the most popular online wallets—FanDuel customers can use PayPal to send money to their accounts by entering their address and routing number either from their bank or directly from PayPal. PayPal takes a cut of money through fees but is a nice resource to have available.

PayNearMe: PayNearMe is a novel concept of sorts. Simply put, you determine how much money you want to deposit and are then texted or emailed a receipt, which you pay for at local gas stations or 7-Elevens. Once the payment has been processed on-site, money will show up in your account in a matter of minutes (in most cases).

Bank Transfer: Bank transfers are another popular method to send money to different entities, including FanDuel. For many people, bank transfers are the most straightforward way to send money because you can directly monitor the flow of cash from your accounts, and because there are no third parties involved in the process.

FanDuel Prepaid Play+ Card: Using a prepaid FanDuel Play+ card will allow you to budget your money as the card is only available for FanDuel use. This way, you aren’t intermingling your credit or debit cards, and can also stick to a prepaid amount. Money on the card is held in an insured bank internally until you're ready to use it.

Cash: This method applies to in-person sports bettors. To make a cash deposit, simply visit the cage, or deposit center, hand over your cash, and your account will be credited with the amount that you gave to the clerk.

Venmo: FanDuel is one of the few sportsbooks that are currently accepting Venmo as a method of payment. Venmo is a popular online wallet used to send money, usually over the phone, to recipients, though it has now extended to large corporations such as FanDuel. Venmo is easy to use, and many customers are intimately familiar with its interface through repeated exposure.

Gift Card: FanDuel gift cards are available for purchase and can be pre-loaded with funds, perfect for the holidays, birthdays, or special occasions. Be aware that the money you put on the card cannot be changed once paid for and is how much it will have when the recipient receives it.

FanDuel Sportsbook Withdrawal Methods Review

Just like there are many FanDuel deposit methods available to customers, there are also a variety of FanDuel withdrawal options, many of which overlap with those outlined in the deposit section.

How long does FanDuel withdrawal take? FanDuel processes most withdrawals instantly. Although it depends on the method which you are using. The good news is that accounts are not bound to a certain type of withdrawal. So, for example, a customer could withdraw money to their PayPal account one week and then with their credit card the next if they wanted to.

Note that in order to withdraw money with a Debit Card, Venmo, PayPal, or Prepaid Card, you will have to first deposit money using that method. Customers who try to make withdrawals with any of these without previous history of deposit with that method will be denied.

Here is a full layout of all of the FanDuel withdrawal methods available for customers.

*NOTE* The minimum withdrawal for most states is $25, but some are as low as $10. For more information on state rulesets, check out our sports betting states pages.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Sports, Leagues and Markets to Bet on

Let’s get into the bread and butter of the FanDuel sportsbook—what has made it the top betting operator in the U.S.—its betting markets.

FanDuel betting options include nearly everything under the sun. Looking for bet on the NBA? FanDuel has it. TVG betting? FanDuel has it. March Madness betting? FanDuel has it.

The list of options are also spread out amongst different betting markets, including:

  • Spreads
  • Moneylines
  • Over/unders
  • Props
  • Parlays
  • Exotics
  • Teasers
  • Futures
  • And more…

There is practically no limit to sports betting at FanDuel, no matter if you are using the FanDuel mobile web or FanDuel sportsbook app.

So what exactly does FanDuel sports betting entail? We’re so glad you asked!

Football

NFL

FanDuel is one of the leading NFL betting sites because of its inclusion of the most robust betting lines of any major sportsbook. Whereas other sportsbooks limit the betting lines that can be combined into parlays, FanDuel lets users put together nearly any (though not literally every) combination of lines to form unique and highly profitable parlays.

Traditional betting lines are, of course, available in spades. Odds are regularly updated by the FanDuel team for the best live betting experience. There are also frequent contests and promotions, some of which we have touched on already.

More than anything, FanDuel has done a great job of positioning itself to be a leader in NFL betting. Whether it be the simplistic menu, aesthetic design, or snappy response time, FanDuel and the NFL go hand-in-hand. Bettors should check out the huge array of NFL odds before they do nothing else on FanDuel.

NCAA Football

NCAA Football betting sites are one of the most active in futures betting. At the start of every year, just after championship odds are released, bettors flock to sportsbooks to pick conference winners and national champions—that is because there is little parity in college football, so bettors can get better odds for teams that are likely to make it far in the postseason.

Teams normally play 10-12 regular-season games before two divisional champions progress to the conference championship. After that, four teams (soon to be expanded to 12) are nominated to participate in a four-team single-elimination bracket. Betting odds are available for all of these stages of the season.

Unlike professional sports, collegiate player props are unavailable in some states. That list of states includes: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia.

Basketball

NBA

NBA betting sites, including FanDuel, offer all of the traditional betting lines (spread, moneylines, over/unders) in addition to an assortment of other lines. Parlays are especially popular, specifically same-game parlay, as are futures bets. Futures can be anything occurring in the long-term, including championship winner, MVP, and points leader.

NBA bettors are treated to 82 regular-season games plus a four-round playoff bracket. The action comes nearly every night, including major holidays such as Christmas. Odds are also updated regularly for in-play betting and can be accessed via the FanDuel mobile web page, web app, or FanDuel mobile app for Android or iOS.

Users are encouraged to check out all of the lines available before picking one specific betting strategy as there are tons of options.

NCAA Basketball

NCAA Basketball betting sites are very similar to college football betting sites, although not quite with the same focus on future bets—at least, at the start of the season. That all changes when March Madness starts.

March Madness is an annual 68-team single-elimination postseason tournament during which teams compete to determine the national champion. It is called March “Madness” because of how frequently upsets occur, leading to some of the most unpredictable betting of the year.

College basketball fans are also restricted from betting on player props if they are in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia. For more information on this, again, check out our state betting pages, and stay up to date with our latest news.

Baseball

MLB

MLB betting sites like FanDuel also take advantage of the league’s long, 162-game regular-season schedule, in addition to the playoffs and spring training. Unlike most other markets, the spread is always set at +1.5 or -1.5, introducing more variability to the odds rather than the spread itself.

Of course, moneylines and points totals are also available. Props, meanwhile, can range from anything to home run hits, total strikeouts, or if there will be a shutout. You can build same-game parlays or parlays consisting of multiple games, depending on your preference.

Baseball betting also includes fun lines not found in other sports, such as NRFI and YRFI, which translate to “no run first inning” and “yes run first inning.” Check out the full list of betting options on the FanDuel sportsbook menu.

Hockey

NHL

NHL betting sites join MLB sites as the only major sports to have predetermined spreads before matchups are even posted. Teams are either 1.5-goal underdogs or favorites, and the odds are flexible. This is because there are fewer goals (points) scored in every game, so large spreads just don’t make sense.

NHL fans are normally a hardcore group of people who live for the hard-hitting thrill of the sport. As a result, betting lines, especially during playoff season, are constantly changing as the bets pour in.

Just like the other sports we have mentioned, bettors can place parlay bets, pick futures winners, or select their favorite player props. It all depends on the type of bettor that the individual is.

Other Sports

We highlighted a few of the major sports available on FanDuel, but we did not cover the entire list. There is also soccer betting, tennis betting, horse betting, MMA betting (including the UFC), NASCAR betting, golf betting (including the PGA), boxing betting, and pretty much every form of entertainment allowed by legal sports betting states.

Check out a full list of FanDuel’s legal sports betting options on their site or mobile app. You will find the sports in a heading or can search for one of particular interest in the search bar.

FanDuel Sportsbook Team Partners

MLB: Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors
NHL: Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs
MLS: DC United

Differences in Betting Markets for Different Fanduel States

Everything that we listed above is a good rule of thumb for what is available in legal FanDuel states. However, there are certain exceptions to the rule.

  • New Jersey and Virginia: Betting on in-state college teams is not allowed in either state. Virginia also does not permit live betting during collegiate athletics.
  • New York: Bettors cannot wager on in-state college teams but can bet on colleges from other states playing in tournaments in New York if no local team is directly involved.
  • Colorado, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and Indiana: Local bettors can place stakes on the Oscars, while others cannot.
  • Illinois: Bettors can only bet on in-state teams if they do so in person and not online, although there are no retail betting parlors able to accept the bets at the time of writing.
  • Connecticut: Bettors can place futures bets on local teams but cannot bet on individual matchups.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Odds Review

FanDuel has some of the most competitive betting odds of any legal sportsbook. Users can find them laid out in an enormous grid as soon as they open the FanDuel web page or mobile app.

Odds are available for all of the sports that we have mentioned—which encompasses nearly everything out there—as well as various markets, whether they be major or niche.

Odds for spreads and points totals are normally set at -110 and can range (in most cases) from +100 to -120, though this differs for hockey and baseball because of the uniqueness of spread betting in those sports. Regardless, FanDuel betting odds are usually among the most favorable for bettors.

FanDuel users can also receive great odds for prop bets, which can look like:

  • A player to score more than their points total
  • A player to score 2+ touchdowns
  • Correct game score
  • Both teams to produce shutouts
  • Winning margin
  • And much more…

FanDuel Sportsbook: Live Betting Review

Live betting, also known as in-play betting, is a popular feature of the FanDuel sportsbook. Bettors can find live odds in the same place they would find traditional odds before a game or event starts and can place live bets from practically the start to finish of an event.

Live betting odds are prone to quick changes, which can make them more valuable than they would have been otherwise. Conversely, it can lessen the value of a bet at a moment’s notice, which requires live bettors to be extra-sharp.

Just like their regular betting odds, FanDuel live betting odds are generous and give players a real chance to walk away with a profit.

There are multiple instances in which it makes sense to place live bets. The first would be if you are confident in a particular outcome but have been waiting to see if the opposing outcome can gain some steam so you can sneak in for better value. Another would be if one side is being favored too heavily compared to the likelihood.

Do not use live betting as an opportunity to recoup previous losses. Stick to your plan for bankroll management and only use live betting in appropriate situations.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Live Streaming Review

FanDuel has an in-app live streaming service that allows bettors to tune into their favorite event without ever leaving the sportsbook.

FanDuel was able to launch its live-streaming service in 2019 through a partnership with Sportradar, a global sports data company. FanDuel live streaming was the first of its kind for American sportsbooks and has been a model other companies have attempted to replicate ever since.

Unfortunately, FanDuel’s options for live-streamed events do not include many major sports or leagues, but that is presumably a focus for the future. FanDuel also has in-house television productions aired on the app and the company’s website, including a show with renowned NBA insider Shams Charania.

The modern day is all about convenience, and FanDuel is creating a one-stop shop for sports bettors and fans alike. This is continuing the assimilation of the two entities and could prove to be the model other sportsbooks attempt to follow, as many already have.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Parlay Bets and Teasers

One of the most popular bets at the FanDuel sportsbooks is a bet called a parlay. A parlay is a combination of multiple picks into one bet with increased risk but significantly increased value. Parlays are popular amongst new and experienced bettors and add more entertainment to sports betting.

FanDuel lets users create a variety of parlays, whether they involve futures, one game, or multiple games.

Futures parlays are a combination of multiple long-term outcomes, such as which teams will become NFL champions or win the NBA Finals. A same-game parlay is a list of picks from within the same game, such as which player will score the first bet, which team will win the game, and which player will go over their points total. Multiple-game parlays look the same but involve multiple teams and games.

Teasers, meanwhile, are like parlays but abide by a basic structure. Teasers essentially take the spread and move it by a certain number of points for several games. So, bettors could create a six-point, three-team teaser, which moves the spread line by six points for three games. Teasers are usually placed during football games but can be found in a variety of sports.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Early Cash Out

One of the many user-friendly features is the FanDuel Cash Out, which allows bettors to withdraw their steak from a bet before the outcome has been decided. The exact payout depends on the context of the game or event but still allows bettors to retain near-full control over their bets, even after they have been placed.

For example, if a bettor bets $10 at +500 odds that a 1-1 tie will occur in a soccer match, and the score is 1-1 after 78 minutes, they could theoretically receive an early cash out of somewhere around $25. Every minute that the game moves closer to the finish line and the score is correct, the cash out will increase in value.

Bettors may be wise to take cash outs even if the game is unfolding exactly as they expected to protect against future losses. If we use this same example, the cash-out value could fall to nothing if one of the team’s scores, thereby rendering a 1-1 final score impossible.

Bettors can also use the cash-out feature to protect against losses. If you see that a game is not going how you expected, you may be wise to withdraw your money from the bet, even if it is worth less than what you risked.

FanDuel Sportsbook User Experience

There is no bigger determining factor for online sports betting sites than the user experience. In the interest of a full review, we examined the FanDuel mobile app, web app, and mobile desktop features to determine the pros, cons, similarities, and differences. We have listed our FanDuel reviews below.

Mobile App

The FanDuel mobile app is the most impressive that we have reviewed. It is the most visually pleasing and simplistic, extremely responsive, easy to navigate, and has every feature that users could ask for.

There is a reason that the FanDuel mobile app is the most popular source for betting on the go. We attribute this to the app’s overall excellence in a variety of categories, which are as follows.

Layout

The Fanduel mobile app is the easiest of all to follow. The top of the app has a list of different sports, leagues, and major events, and immediately under that is a featured promotion headline. In the main body of the app are the betting odds, and at the very bottom is the bet slip.

Speed

Everything on the FanDuel betting app is streamlined, which feeds into the convenience factor we were discussing earlier. The app itself also registers clicks very fast and moves selected betting odds into the bet slip at a moment’s notice.

Opportunities

It is very easy to locate betting odds with the FanDuel mobile app. After selecting the section and game/event of interest, the app will display a list of sections for odds, including featured lines, game lines, player props, half scores, and much more.

Customer Service

If for whatever reason, you encounter a problem while using the FanDuel mobile app, there is a designated area for support. We found the FanDuel customer service team to be very helpful, whether it be their 24/7 live chat, resources, or basic guides to solutions.

Reliability

We found that using the FanDuel mobile app was like having the same experience multiple times, which is exactly what we were hoping for. We did not want to encounter any dissimilarities or discontinuity at any point as that would suggest instability internally and are pleased to report that that did not happen.

Accessibility

Even from step one, FanDuel makes it easy on the customer. The app uses facial recognition software to help you log into your account faster and will save previous unplaced bets across multiple logins to make sure you don’t lose what you were busy cooking up. The deposit and withdrawal processes are also very easy to locate and follow.

Final Opinion

The FanDuel mobile app impressed us at every level. We highly recommend it as a betting option for current or prospective FanDuel users, especially ones who like to place their bets on the go.

Mobile Web

The FanDuel mobile web is like taking a snapshot of the web app with the convenience of your mobile phone. Admittedly, the response time is not as fast as you would get from the web app itself, or the mobile app, but it is certainly a serviceable method for sports betting.

The appearance and layout of the mobile web platform are almost identical to the web app and mobile app, which is great for continuity’s sake.

Users do get some of the features reserved for the web version compared to the FanDuel mobile app. One of the most identifiable ways this is manifested is the bet slip, which is now on the side of the page and does not cover up the center of your sportsbook as it does on the mobile app.

Users will be able to easily access promotions, customer service, terms and conditions, and any of the smaller sections that do not immediately pertain to placing bets. There are no major drawbacks to the mobile web, aside from the increased lag—overall, this is a solid method for sports betting, but not the most desirable one.

FanDuel Web

The FanDuel web app is what we have found to be the best way to place bets. Obviously, this changes if the user is out of the house and cannot afford to carry a laptop (or more comedically, a desktop) with them, but in the right circumstances, we believe this is the best method.

The FanDuel web app has its bet slip conveniently placed to the side so it does not hide the betting lines, fits all of its sections together with no overlap or disharmony, and keeps everything spaced out enough so that it does not come across as overwhelming.

No matter which method users choose to utilize during their betting escapades, they will be able to access FanDuel bonuses and promos—however, looking at them on the web app allows users to see more than one option at a time and compare them side by side.

One area that we have not mentioned is the “other links” section towards the bottom of the page, which contains links to helpful resources such as sports betting reviews.

We were also impressed by the sections at the very top of the screen that allow users to switch between the sportsbook, fantasy, and racebook, instead of requiring users to load other apps or web pages.

FanDuel Customer Support Review

FanDuel customer support is available to all users no matter how or where they are accessing the sportsbook. These well-trained professionals can walk you through different processes on the FanDuel sportsbook, handle questions, and resolve any problems that you may be having.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to the support team if you unearth an issue with your sportsbook, or simply would like to know more information. You can reach FanDuel’s team via any of the methods listed below.

FanDuel Sportsbook Security, Licenses and Reputation Review

FanDuel is a legal online sportsbook, meaning that it is regulated and permitted to operate in America (in states where it holds a license). All regulated sportsbooks fall under national laws and are overseen by state regulators.

Sports bettors can take comfort in every one of their transactions, withdrawals, and interactions with the FanDuel sportsbook being protected by government agencies. There is no chance of fraud without consequence, and there will always be additional resources to seek help from if it should be needed (but hopefully is not).

Unfortunately, sports bettors in states where FanDuel is not licensed to operate will not be able to access the sportsbook—not until it either obtains a license, or that state legalizes its sports betting market and then gives out licenses. States are in charge of their markets and therefore have the sole authority over which sportsbooks receive regulatory approval and become licensed to operate.

FanDuel reviews confirm that the sportsbook is one of the most trusted in the entire country. Still, if there are any serious issues, look up your state regulator’s information either in our state pages or with a quick internet search.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Betting on Horse Racing

FanDuel horse racing is available in the following states:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Illinois
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee

Horse racing bettors can use the FanDuel horse racing app or the sportsbook to place their bets. Users will find betting lines for races at over 200 racetracks around the world.

FanDuel also owns TVG, which is an immensely popular horse race betting site.

The FanDuel racing app has helpful information for bettors who might be new to the sport. Bettors can find horse racing odds on either the mobile app, mobile web or web app.

FanDuel Daily Fantasy

FanDuel offers daily fantasy sports for bettors who want to get closer to the action than simply betting on one-and-done outcomes.

The benefit of daily fantasy sports is that it does not require as much of a long-term commitment as a regular fantasy season, which can go on for nearly a year, depending on the sport. Instead, players just draft their rosters for a short time and can swap them out entirely the next day, if they choose.

There are different strategies of assembling winning DFS rosters—determining what works best for you comes from research and, of course, trial and error.

DFS gives bettors the chance to become the general manager of their team and test their wits against other FanDuel players. This is one of the best feelings for a competitor and adds another dimension to regular sports betting.

FanDuel offers DFS for multiple sports in the following states:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Illinois
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

FanDuel DFS can be found at the top of the menu on the main page, and links to DFS will also be seen on the horse betting screen or regular sportsbook.

Ways to Play DFS

First up, you’ll need to choose a DFS contest (NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, NASCAR, WNBA, PGA Golf, MMA and college basketball and football are all on offer).

Choose a sport you know well or in which you hold more than perhaps only a passing interest.

Playing DFS is very different to traditional sports betting (simply betting on teams to win or lose).

In a DFS contest, you are supplied with a salary cap which is used to ‘buy’ players for your virtual team. Every player in your chosen league is priced according to their perceived virtual market value based on seasonal and career statistics.

For example, if you would like to draft the best 3 pointer shooter in the NBA (Steph Curry, for arguments sake) you will need to spend a high percentage of your salary cap on that single star Warriors hot shot.

Once you have drafted and ‘paid’ for your virtual team, take a seat, watch the games unfold and your team’s points are calculated for you. Your team’s real-life counterparts amass stats (Home runs, rushing yards, touchdowns, goals, assists, rebounds, strikeouts, yards gained, receptions, etc.) in the real world and correspondingly, your fantasy league team accumulates points online. The team which ends up accumulating the most points, wins the league whether it be weekly, regular season or a stand-alone playoff ‘league’.

Prize money is drawn from the money earnt from each of the millions of player’s entry fees of just few dollars for each competition.

Unbelievably, daily, weekly or season-long DFS competition winners can sometimes receive as much as $1 million per competition, per major league.

Within that scenario, there are also different style of games to plays as outlined below:

Head to Head – Play against a single opponent for winner take all stakes. Be sure to watch out for how your potential opponents are rating (Usually *Experienced, or *Highly Experienced)

Beat the score – (Highly recommended for new FanDuel Users) – are DFS contests where the prize pool is split evenly across all winners.

50/50s – Players finishing in the top half of all players in a DFS contest win prizes.

Multipliers – Offers DFS contestants the opportunity to double their money, or keep going to play for more.

Tournaments – As the name implies, are DFS contests with set high paying prize pools and all winnings are guaranteed.

Beginners Only – (Highly Recommended for new FanDuel Users) – No experienced DFS players are allowed to enter these DFS competitions and you will compete against fellow FanDuel beginners only.

Satellites and Qualifiers – Win one DFS contest to gain entry into a more lucrative DFS
3-100 players – Compete in a DFS contest with fewer players. Multiple payout structures are usually a feature of these type of DFS games.

Friends Mode – Another game highly recommended for new FanDuel Users, where you can play in private league with friends for a few games, or if you prefer, even up to an entire season in your chosen sport.

FanDuel TV and Horse Racing

FanDuel TV is a revolutionary concept within the sports betting industry. FanDuel has branched beyond the usual reach for a sports betting entity and is offering a bonafide TV schedule designed to be watched from a phone.

Programs include the morning show “Up and Adams” with Kay Adams and an NBA-dominant show “Run it Back” with retired NBA veteran Chandler Parsons, former ESPN contributor Michelle Beadle, and league insider Shams Charania.

FanDuel also has sponsored content with media personalities Pat McAfee, Bill Simmons, and more. They are also continuing to add to their show schedule and develop more content.

FanDuel TV also airs a selection of sports from around the world. This goes hand in hand with its horse racing section, where users can find live streams of certain races.

These extra features are a perfect encapsulation of what makes FanDuel such a reputable company and the number one option for sports bettors in America.

Being able to stream content, including live events, without ever having to leave the sportsbook enhances and simplifies the betting process and also reduces the need for streaming fees from third parties.

Make sure you check out FanDuel TV’s schedule with a FanDuel sportsbook app download, on the mobile web or web app when doing your FanDuel review.

FanDuel Online Casino Review

In addition to the sportsbook, DFS, and horse racing menu, the FanDuel casino is available for players of more traditional casino games.

Users are invited to try out everything from blackjack to roulette to slots and much more. The FanDuel online casino is maintained and operated by the FanDuel Group, just like the sportsbook and other entities.

FanDuel Online Poker Review

Part of the FanDuel online casino is the availability of online poker games.

Online poker was legalized in 2013 and is now operational in a variety of states across the country. FanDuel is one of the leading providers of online poker and offers a variety of games, including the ever-popular Texas Hold ‘Em.

Just like the sportsbook, the FanDuel online casino has a welcome bonus for online poker players or traditional casino fans. Details of these deals can be found in the promotions section on FanDuel.

FanDuel vs DraftKings

FanDuel and DraftKings are the two biggest brands in American sports betting and are thereby direct rivals. FanDuel has enjoyed a larger market share but is under constant pressure from the latter.

Both offer everything gamblers could ask for, whether that be competitive sports betting odds, DFS, in-person engagement activities, or constant promotional opportunities. However, each has its unique selling points to help them stand out.

Check out our full analysis of the two competitors in our FanDuel vs DraftKings review, where we compare and contrast the offerings of each company. Note that we fully believe in both companies and would recommend them to new and experienced bettors.

FanDuel Sportsbook Review Conclusion

Usalegalbetting.com entered our FanDuel review with the knowledge that we were about to review the most popular sports betting brand in America. What we found out is that, simply put, it has obtained this reputation for all of the right reasons.

FanDuel has some of the best betting odds in the industry, a simple but detailed layout, excellent service, and a customer-first mindset. It’s hard to point to any major flaws with the sportsbook or any of its other affiliate sites.

Betting Experience

Placing bets with FanDuel is a simple process. All of the odds are presented in front of you, and the bet slip instantly tracks your bets and shows you a parlay value for multiple picks. The sections are easy to locate and access, and the odds are constantly updating.

Mobile App

The FanDuel mobile app was arguably the best sportsbook reviews that we have performed. It has lightning-fast speed and does a brilliant job maintaining all of the features of the web app without compromising ease of access or comfort.

Processing

FanDuel has numerous withdrawal and deposit methods, a 24/7 customer support staff, and various account customization settings that keep everything working smoothly and as intended. We did not encounter any problems during our review and found that to be in line with a majority of FanDuel reviews.

Overall Feeling

Logging into the FanDuel sportsbook felt “right” at every step. The sportsbook is beautifully laid out, the customer is never too far from deals or promotions, and there are more betting odds than you can find on nearly any other sportsbook.
